Check the remote control for its infra-red emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check by pressing all the buttons on it; and see whether all of it generates infrared signal while pressing. If it is found OK, check and replace the infrared sensor inside the TV. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. It has details about how to check a remote control; by one among the post. Pull up older posts. If the remote control is found OK; check and replace the infra-red sensor inside the TV. SOURCE: How do I pause while recording?

As far as I can tell, and yes the documentation is skimpy, when you press the 'record/play' button the video recording pauses. Make sure you press the video icon button, not the 'record/play' button to get it started again. If you press the 'record/play' button, it goes into a 'play back' mode.

Hope this helps...

SOURCE: My Teac Z-7000 will not record tapes

Hello,
some weeks ago I got this really impressive deck (Teac Z 7000) from a colleague, and found the same problem. I fixed it, and the fix is not too complicated. It´s the potentiometers that do fail. All pots are from the same manufacturer (Alps) and construction. The problem is that the wisher is broken away from the holding plastic and will loose contact completely. You can check that with a normal ohmmeter: You´ll find the total resistance over the outer terminals but endless resistance from one of the outer terminals to the middle wisher contact. The values are: 100 kOhm linear for each of the upper left pots (fader, space), 2x22kOhm pos.log. for the lower left pot (phone volume). So, what does a broken wisher at the "fade in" pot do? The Recorder "thinks" that You selected an "endless" fade in time, and the result is : no record level. You can do an easy "quick and dirty" fix just to see if that´s the problem: Hold- or better solder- a say 47kOhm resistor in parallel to the conducted potentiometer terminals and try to record.
4 of 5 pots have been defective in my deck, and I´ve replaced them with standard types from my local electronic supplier (Conrad electronic, has a shop in Frankfurt/Main). Well, the new parts didn´t fit perfectly, I used a file to get them in (not visible from outside). Also I lost the possibility of pushing the knobs in and out, but that is not a really problem.
I assume this fix might also help owners of the Teac Z-6000 and Z-5000, which- most probably- use the same type of potentiometers.

Not recording anymore

After you press the 'record' button the Minidisc unit is still in "pause mode" - you can hear the music and see the meters move, but notice that the time isn't moving until you press "Play" - then it will start recording. Is the time changing when you go to play it back? You might have left the MD in 'pause' perhaps?

I do not know how to use it, i have the manual, but i do not find it

The recorder takes 2 AAA batteries. Press Menu/Folder (on the right above the jogdial (Stop, Rewind, Fast Forward, Play)) to select the folder to add a new recorded item. (The folders are A,B,C, or S. Folder S will come up with a date and you can select another date for the recording.) Folders A, B and C can hold 100 files each; Folder S has 365 dates which can hold 15 items each.

Press and hold the Menu/Folder button for a second or longer. The Screen should show the Mode menu. Press Play and then the Fast Forward and Rewind buttons to set the recording quality. HQ is the high quality recording and will fill up the available storage on the organizer more rapidly. LP will record for the longest period.

Set the Microphone sensitivity by pressing and holding Menu/Folder. Then press the Fast Forward or Rewind button until Mic appears on the display. Then press Play and use the Fast Forward or Rewind buttons to select Low or High sensitivity. (An external mic often gives better results.)

Once you have set the folder for the next recording and the recording quality and microphone sensitivity, press Rec (center above the jogdial) to start recording. Press Stop to end the recording or Rec to pause it. (It will stop if the Pause is longer than 10 minutes.) Press Display to see how much longer you can record before using up the available storage space.

To play back a record, locate the item in the folder then press Play.

The manual for the Olympus VN-1800 is available from the Olympus support site: http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_support_manuals.asp?id=841 . The direct link to the English version of the manual is http://www.olympusamerica.com/files/oima_cckb/VN-900_VN-1800_VN-3600_Instructions_EN.pdf .

I hope this helps.

I have a phillips universal remote and I need the code that matches to a Liteon dvd player and recorder. Model LVW-1101HC1

The codes that I have are for the LVW-1101 ( and possibly 1105). The remote responds to the JVC remote code [0623] but the individual command buttons are scrambled and need to be programmed in-unless you have the remote w/ learning):

266-play 286-TV (as source)
292-Fast Rewind 296-Cursor Rt.
301-Fast Forward 304-Record
316-1 325-7
326-Cursor/Channel Up 328-Timer
329-0 330-Menu
364-Setup 365-Select
367-Stop 368-Previous Track
369-Cursor/Channel Down 385 Commercial Skip
389-Source 390-Next Track
413-Cursor Left 416-Display
417-2 420-Open/Close
421-3 427-4
431-Top Menu 433-Navigate Menu
452-5 453-Easy Guider
454-9 455-Power
459-6 462-Tools
474-8 479-Pause/Step
500-Channel Editor

Finding the codes is not hard-just tedious.

Cannot operate svr-925 digital recorder, need manual

How to Record:
1. Make sure HOLD switch (on side of unit with pocket clip) is set to off position (slide to right is off - to left would be hold)
2. For best results set unit with mic(rophone) which is on top of unit toward sound source and press REC/STOP button (Top button on front of unit just below LCD display). Recording will begin and will be indicated on LCD display.
> Red Record LED will be on and the message number, recording time will be displayed on the LCD.
3. To stop recording, press REC/STOP button one time.
* If no other buttons are pressed within 1 minute at stop position, it will power off automatically.
4. Pause during recording by simply pressing MODE/PAUSE button- press button again to resume.

There is a Voice Operated System (VOS) Recording button on left side also. You can record with voice activation to conserve recording space but I have found that you lose a portion of the recorded sound as it activates and if there is no sound for a very few minutes the unit powers off and you will get nothing further recorded. I recomend just keeping VOS in off position.

5. To erase a recording: Select the message number you want to erase and while it is stopped (the message number will appear in LCD with the length of recording showing also)
Press and hold the ERASE button until the LCD begins blinking "ERASE" then, while it's blinking simply press the erase button again and the recording will be erased.

6. To play back a recorded message find your message by "toggling" the switch on the right side of the unit that says INDEX. That switch is the fast forward/reverse play etc. To Play simply push the switch in. This button/switch takes a little practice to use but the Play portion is straight forward. Use the front buttons to pause and stop during playback.

Hope this helps.

Do you still have the remote control? Try with the remote. If this works, the button of the camera is broken and have to be replace by a qualified technician. Good luck!

Cd rewritable player recorder tascam cdrw4u

I never had that problems. I have been using it over five years. Does it play commercially made CDs (the ones you bought at the store)? Panel shows track numbers and sound volume? Can you hear it by using a head set (phone volume control turned up? If so, now recording part, do you have input select correct (analog or digital)? Input cable(s) into right connector(s)? When you press "record" button, does it put into "pause" mode? Can you watch the incoming sound levels when it is on "pause" mode? Can you start the recording with remote's fader button or play/pause button on the machine? Good luck.

Help! Stopped Recording

Do you have a remote? Some camcorders you have to hit the record pause button on the remote and then hit pause. It then begins recording. I hope this works for you.
