How do I clear my criminal record I'm now a felon for knowing something and did not report it
The concept of criminal punishment for guilty knowledge is something completely alien and shocking to we British, though sometimes we hope for something similar.
In Britain we have the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 which doesn't erase a criminal record but after 15 years the offender isn't obliged to answer questions about his offence or punishment, except in exceptional circumstances.
Unless there is similar Legislation where you are, you have your criminal record for life and will always be obliged to answer questions about it.
You will need to take professional advice with reference to your local and national laws. I would guess your only defence against the offence would be either to demonstrate you didn't know you had guilty knowledge or to demonstrate you had been placed under extreme duress or believed there was a serious threat of personal harm if you did your duty and revealed your guilty knowledge to the authorities.
If you had such a defence that wasn't presented to the court as mitigation by your defence lawyer there is a case to have the trial declared void and permission for an appeal or a retrial should be given.
