Don't do it, you could make it worse, take it in to a camera service center.

SOURCE: cleaning mode not pulling cleaning fluid up into chamber for cleaning process

I have had the same problem.I sent an e-mail to Remington and they sent me a whole new unit including the shaver and accesories.Problem is the replacemant is doing the same thing again as the first unit.I got it for x-mas and am getting ready to contact remington for a 3rd unit,it is only June. What I am doing now is changing the fluid and filter and tip the unit forward to bring fluid in to the head cleaning chamber. It's half ass way to have to something, but Remington does have a problem with this and needs to recall or replace with an upgrade when available

SOURCE: When the dryer is running it smells like charcol ligher fluid

Sometime recently there has been a petroleum product used in the house. Possibly an oil based paint, stain, varnish, adhesive or some form of cleaning product.

Anyone of these products or many others like them, contain a distillate of liquid. Check around the house.

Until that oil based product dries or cures, the odor and vapors will remain and so will the dryer smell.

At the end of the drying cycle, use the air fluff cycle to purge out the smell. Besure to return the selector on the dryer back to it's prior postition.

Wii remote buttons are sticky or stuck down

Try cleaning the buttons of the nintendo Wii Remote using the cleaning instructions below, being sure to follow the directions carefully.
    What you will need:
  • 1 clean toothbrush (no toothpaste on it)
  • 1 cup of warm tap water
  • 1 paper towel
    Instructions:
  1. Remove the batteries from the Wii Remote.
  2. Get a clean toothbrush (no toothpaste) and a cup of warm tap water (not too hot). Do NOT pour or submerge the Wii Remote in any type of liquid.
  3. Slightly dip the toothbrush in the water (the toothbrush should not be dripping wet) and scrub the area of the Wii Remote around the buttons.
  4. Work the bristles down around the sides of the buttons.
  5. After cleaning the Wii Remote, dry it off with a paper towel.
  6. Let the Wii Remote air dry with the buttons facing down for at least a couple of hours.
  7. Test the Wii Remote for proper response.
  8. Repeat the steps if necessary.

If the buttons are still sticky after cleaning, the Wii Remote will need to be replaced. Our experience shows that this type of problem is usually caused by physical damage and not covered under Nintendo's warranty. You can purchase a replacement at retail stores that sell Nintendo products.

How to fix camera nikon f3 shut sticky

First, I'm not a Nikon tech.
* Wow, old school. I had 3 nikkormats even the 1/2 frame one. Well I still got them but I use my phablet now.
* Sticky shutter usually means the camera needs cleaning and probably a spring replacement. The shutter is exposed every time the lens is taken off or the back is opened.
* Lots of stuff and dirt gets into the body. I've tried cleaning fluids but that's not a good idea if your using the wrong fluid or spray it in the wrong place.
* Here is a Forum that may address the issue; https://www.flickr.com/groups/18787520@N00/discuss/72157647706281597/
* You should take it to a camera shop (older one) to have it checked, cleaned, and lubricated.

The keys stick and/or skip

1
Use a small screwdriver to gently pop the sticky keys off of the keyboard. You do not need to use excessive force, as a bit of gentle pressure should allow the key to come loose easily. If you are cleaning the entire laptop keyboard, draw a keyboard map on a piece of paper so that you know exactly where each key goes. There may be a small piece of rubber connected to each key, depending on your make of laptop, so remove these as well and place them in a small container, as they are small and easily lost.
2 Clean the exposed area under the key well with a cotton swab slightly dampened with rubbing alcohol. Replace the cotton swabs often as they collect residues, but be sure that they are only very slightly damp, as excess liquid can damage the keyboard. You can roll the swab against the opening of the alcohol bottle to remove excess liquid making sure that alcohol does not drip from the swab.
3 Scrub the actual keys and their rubber components with cotton swabs and alcohol, removing all traces of grease and sticky residue. Spray the keys with standard household cleaner and allow them to set for at least five minutes before rinsing them thoroughly with hot water. Put the keys on a paper towel and allow them to dry completely.
4 Set the rubber components aside and place the laptop keys bottom side up on a paper bag. Coat the keys very lightly with film lubricant and allow them to dry. Make sure that the lubricant covers all of the small guide spaces inside of each key; however, you must be careful not to use too much lubricant, as the solvent can damage the plastic.
5 Apply a small amount of solvent to the tip of a cotton swab and lubricate the exposed key space on the keyboard, again being sure to cover all of the small spaces. Allow the keyboard to dry thoroughly.

6
Replace all of the rubber components into the keyboard and then install the keys. Make sure that the wire is placed into the guide slot next to the key and apply firm yet gentle pressure until the key snaps into place. Congratulations, no sticky keys!

You can buy a cleaner lubricant spray to clean off the stickiness. You can do this online or almost anywhere they sell electronics or computers.

Beer spilled on my keyboard so they feel really sticky. How can I clean it?

This will require about 2 hours time once you have collected the proper cleaning materials.
  • Cleaning materials:
  • Cotton swabs
  • Cosmetic foam rubber cleaning pads ( use only with naptha (lighter fluid), NOT alcohol)
  • Paper towels
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Water
  • Lighter fluid (naptha)
  • Fine tipped tweezers
  • Scissors
  • Kitchen strainer
  • Household cleaner, Windex or equivalent
  • Super Lube Dry Film spray (critical - DO NOT SUBSTUTUTE !) K-Mart automotive.
  • This is a PTFE (teflon) based lubricant which dries perfectly DRY and is ideally suited for this application.
Proceed as follows: DISASSEMBLE
IMPORTANT: Make a keyboard map so you know where each key goes.
Carefully pry each key loose with a small screwdriver and place in a container. They pop off. DO NOT use excessive force. There may be a small rubber piece for each key. Remove all of these and place in a separate container. CAREFUL, these are small and like to jump away.

CLEAN KEYBOARD

Clean the keyboard with cotton swabs SLIGHTLY DAMPENED with water. Replace these often and BE SURE they are only slightly damp. If they are too wet the excess water will contaminate the keyboard through capillary action. This will clean all water soluble contaminants like Coca-Cola, coffee, and sugar residue. For the very small places, cut the foam rubber into small pieces and use the tweezers, again SLIGHTLY DAMPENED, for cleaning. You must clean each and every key space, inside and out, this is critical since this is where the key touches and moves.
Repeat this procedure again using rubbing alcohol and cotton swabs but NOT the foam rubber as it disintegrates when used with alcohol.
Finally repeat this procedure using naptha (lighter fluid) and foam rubber. You can clean even the smallest key guides with small pieces of foam rubber and tweezers. This action will remove any petroleum based contaminants as well as the grease that is sometimes used on the wider keys which may have guide wires, for example, the SCACE BAR.

CLEAN KEYS
Some keys may have wires attached and some grease on them, clean these first with cotton swabs and naptha (lighter fluid). Remove all traces of the grease.
Place all keys in a kitchen strainer. Spray with household cleaner and let stand for 5 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with hot water and place keys on paper towels to dry. Let dry completely.

CLEAN RUBBER COMPONENTS
Place all rubber components in a kitchen strainer. Spray with household cleaner and let stand for 5 minutes. Use stopper in the sink so that you don?t lose these if they jump out of the strainer. Rinse these thoroughly with hot water and place on paper towels. Fold the towels over and press to squeeze most of the water out of the pieces. Let dry completely.
LUBRICATE KEYS
Place all keys bottom-up on a paper bag. Lightly coat the keys, at a 45 degree angle with Super Lube Dry Film lubricant. Do this from all 4 sides to assure penetration and coverage into the small and critical guide spaces inside each key. Let dry ( this happens nearly instantly). DO NOT overdue this step as the carrier solvent may affect the plastic.

LUBRICATE KEYBOARD
Mask off the laptop with paper and scotch tape. Apply lubricant (as above in LUBRICATE KEYS) to the keyboard and let dry.
All right, you now have perfectly cleaned and lubricated keys, keyboard, and rubber components.

REASSEMBLE
Place all rubber components into the keyboard.
Install keys with wires. Make sure wire is secured in the key, usually snapped into place. Place ends of wire in the guide slots adjacent to the key location as you align the key. Firmly press down to snap the key into place.
Install the rest of the keys by aligning and firmly pressing down.

Nikkormat 35mm SLR light meter not working!

1) Clean the battery contacts and put fresh battery.
2) Open the top cover and clean the meter switch ( located and the wind cam )
3) Meter needle maybe stuck at the rest position. Remove the stopper and replace or clean.
4) If none of these help, check the meter cells and resistor band under the shutter dial behind the lens mount ( hard to do.)

There might be several problems:

3. The latch needs adjusting, lubricating. Clean and lubricate
4. Misalignment of hood due to: wear, or slight bump/accident, nudge. Check for alighnment!

Try having someone pull up the hood while you pull the lever. This is a quickie only; then do items mentioned above...
