You don't have to open the remote exactly. You have to pull the battery compartment out. It's in the middle of the bottom edge of the remote on the back. There's a slight ridge that you should use to help you grip the compartment cover while you slide it towards yourself. Just make sure not try to pull too far off the center of the battery compartment.

This is shown in the manual on page 12. ManualsLib has this page of the manual here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/97776/Magnavox-Mpd820.html?page=12#manual .

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: sound but no picture

I have the same problem. The little white popup button on the upper right of the bottom of the unit when it's open is there to cut off the video if it's closed (i.e. in the event it's plugged into a television). My white button won't pop back up... could be the problem with yours. Wish I had a solution.

SOURCE: Remote Control Code for Magnavox mdv-430 dvd player

Yes, a Philips replacement remote should be an excellent choice for your Magnavox DVD player, since they are sister companies. I am using the inexpensive Philips URC US2-PH5DSS and it works well. Your Philips remote will come with a page with all manufacturer codes listed by the type of device. Or you can visit the Philips URC code lookup website at www.urc.philips.com.

The codes listed for Magnavox DVD players are:
0441, 0442, 0447, 0599, 0799, 0699, 0247, 0193, 0093, 0598 You'll have to try them one at a time to see which works best for your player's functions.

SOURCE: Will any 3V Lithium battery work for the Scout

Any good CR2 battery should work. Try this.....remove the battery cap, then pull out the spring a little bit, Dont break it. Make sure the battery goes in Positive end first. reinstall cap and see what happens. If you can, measure the battery voltage.(2.9 to 3.2 volts)
good luck

SOURCE: need to replace the 3v

  • Hello, I have just received your question and wanted to give you an update. In looking at the service manual here is the battery you are needing - 92916717 Battery 3 Volt 0.255 Amp. I am tracking down where to get one and looking at the schematic on installation instructions so please allow me a few minutes for this. I assure I am working only on this at the moment.
Regards, Tony

2035, 2032 can be bought from any super market or hardware store. Need to open the PC, locate the battery, which is normally clipped to the mother board. Use a small screw driver and lift out. If battery is soldered to the mother board then need to access under the board and de-solder carefully without damaging the tracks.

Magnavox MPD850 dvd player won't play, only display no disc

The problem is in the laser pickup assembly, over time the laser becomes weak until it can no longer read the disc, but you can buy a DVD cleaning kit that might breath more life into the player, if no! cheaper to replace the DVD player.

How do I change the batteries on my WW60X? I can't find my manual but was able to open the battery cover to get the number for the batteries. Now I can't get the batteries out of the scales. ...

Your Instruction Manual is here:

http://www.conaircanada.ca/pdf/en/ibs/en_WW60XC.pdf

Battery Replacement Instructions

1. Turn over the scale and open the battery door. (Push ribbed switch and pull up)
2. Replace old batteries with two new 3V Lithium batteries (CR2032).
3. Close battery door.
4. Properly dispose of old batteries.

There is nothing holding the batteries in place once the battery door is opened. If the batteries are difficult to remove, use a small screwdriver to gently pry up on the battery or simply after opening battery door invert the scale and shake.
