Tv no picture but has sound with CV1 on the screen what does this mean?.

I cant see your TV. maker nor model , of 1000s
nor can I see if HDMI cables are attached, or optical sound cables.
nor if TV has external speakers or top brand RECEIVER to them.
is it a SMART TV< with TV screen apps and all that?

The TV can lose sound easy if you have the sound setting wrong
but the screen dead is 10x worse if true means mostly internal power supplies are dead.

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. U mean the tv have pictures flashes only a few sec. than dies have the tv pragram sound left only?Yes? Mean ur tv have a tv LCD Screen Panel have no tv LCD screen backlight to produce tv pictures tv now are having backlight problems.The tv have 1 or 2 long boards that are called LCD inverter boards problems and the causes.These 1 or 2 long Lcd inverter boards only job are to produced backlight for the tv LCD screen panel to hold on to give the tv screen panel to have pictures only.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,EBAY.COM to those refurbishes 1 or 2 long LCD inverter boards for the replacement.

I'm guessing you simply changed the input channel by accident. Press the input or video source button on your TV remote. Cycle through these inputs until you see your picture again. Hope that helps!

What cables are you using to connect DVD to TV set?

Assuming you have connected the DVD to the component (red / green / blue phono) connectors at the back of the set, and the TV is set to EXT5 then the problem is a setting on the DVP5980.

Check the Upscaling setting on the DVP5980 by pressing the HD UPSCALE button on the unit. Cycle through the options until you get a picture. The 30PF9975/12 is not fully HD compatible, so may only support the lower resolutions. (If any)

If this does not work, connect the DVP5980 with the scart and power on the without a disc in the tray.

Press Setup on the remote.

Press the right arrow button twice to get to the VideoSetup Page.

Move down to the Component setting an change from RGB to INTERLACE.

Disconnect the scart and connect the component lead. Select EXT 5 on the TV.

If the picture appears correctly, go back to the Video Setup Page and change the progressive option to On.

Pls more info; what do you mean tv on, picture froze? you are watching on tv chanel, do you use cable? I can help you but need more details.

do you see anything on screen.no picture doesnt mean no raster ,raster mean anything that comes out in display.no raster with sound only mean failure in either,connection in heater which means, loose connection or some new sets declare failure in vertical circuit.so be more specific ok?
