You seem to have a clog in your pump. It is possible that left over soap and minerals from your water have brought your machine to a stop. I would go into the pump it self , and clean out any obstructions, then check all your feed lines for the same. I believe that going into your pump and cleaning inside will solve your problem. I would be careful in mixing solutions with different machines. The steamer carpet cleaner applies the cleaning solution differently than the spin scrub. If anything, I would delude the solution before using it in the shampooer. The steamer automatically deludes the solution, the scrubber directly applies a thick coat.
You release the water on the reverse stroke, and the machine will pick up in that same stroke. You push the machine forward to position it and pull back slowly as you pull the trigger to release solution and clean the carpet.
