My Nikon D 5200 when in scene mode will not change to other scenes

The scene modes are not apparent when viewing the shot. The scene modes adjust the exposure to help give you the results that particular scene is designed for. For example, the man running is to stop motion. The sets a fast shutter speed for you to help stop the action. You can’t see that happen before you take the picture. The portrait mode sets an open aperture to help blur the background. Etc.

Short crackle sound emits from speaker during scene changes

Actually, it is a failing component. Quick scene changes often place demands on the power supply. I would guess that the noise is more prevelant when the scenes change from darker ones to lighter ones. Since this set is so new, request a warranty exchange. This set needs to be serviced. Return it to the place of purchase and ask for a replacement. Usually if the set is less than 30 days old, they just exchange it for you.

Sony cyber shot dsc-t70 unable to change flash setting

The Flash Off setting is fixed and cannot be changed if you are using one of the following modes:
  • High Sensitivity, Twilight or Fireworks Scene Selection
  • Burst or Exposure Bracket REC Mode
If you are using one of the above modes, change the setting to regain flash control.
NOTE: If using Scene Selection modes, the ISO setting is also fixed to ISO AUTO .

Panasonic Color Rings

It sounds like you have a warped shadow mask in your picture tube if your set uses a picture tube. A shadow mask is like a screen wire that lets the three color guns shoot electrons to their respective phosphor dot on the screen to produce the three primary colors which are mixed properly to produce the scene that is being shown. In other words you have a bad picture tube. Stargazer

DVD Malfunction

If cleaning the lens doesn't help, you may have to try cleaning the slide that the laser assembly slides on. This would require taking it apart. When the DVD is inserted, the laser must read the index. If it can't then you get a "no disc" message. If this fails then the laser pick-up assembly may be bad or you have a problem on the circuit board. Stargazer Stargazer

Picture adjustment questions

*The brightness control setting determines how bright your picture will be. *The contrast control sets the gain of the video circuit. This determines the difference between dark and light scenes. Low contrast settings make the picture "hazy". High contrast settings make the picture more distinction between dark and light scenes. *The sharpness control determine the frequency response of the video circiut. High sharpness settings give better resolution but also shows more noise in your picture. Lower sharpness settings smoothe out the picture removing noise but also fine detail. It needs to be set for the best all around picture. *Picture Enhancement is pre-set adjustments which give you different picture qualities. You just select the one you like. Stargazer

Commercial skip/blackouts

Sounds like you're blessed to have a tv like that! Seriously: Some sets have settings that will cut down the sound during a commercial. Haveyou looked at your owner's manual? This tv may have setting to cut out the picture also when commercials come on. From a technical view point generally commercials have stronger signals than regular programming. This may be overloading your set. If this is the case, then you need to have it checked by good technician. A poorly operating power supply (not regulating properly) could possibly cause a problem like this. Also automatic gain control circuits could be not working properly. Stargazer
