SOURCE: Service Menu RCA HD56W58 56" TV

http://www.hdtvoice.com/voice/showthread.php?t=24248

go to http://www.thomsonnetwork.com

Click on "publications ordering" (in the list on the lefthand side of the homepage)
Click the box for service information. Enter the model number (or click the chassis button and enter the chassis number).

In the list of documents you can purchase for $40 ESIATC32X -- the service manual on CD for your set.

This disk will have the info you need.

If you do decide to purchase it (and I highly reccommend you do so), send me the alignment chapter and I would be happy to post it for others who have the same set on my homepage.

You may not need to reset from the service menu. Try holding down the EXIT button on the remote until you get a prompt asking for the OK to reset to the default settings.

Samsung ST42W5p

The best advice I can tell you at this point is to go to tvrepairkits.com and order the complete convergence kit for your model of TV set, no need to search and order multiple parts from different sources and pay multiple shipping fees! Go to http://www.tvrepairkits.com/xcart/home.php?partner=larry
The kit comes with original Sanyo STK IC'S , not those cheap aftermarket or china made IC'S full pictorial directions, the thermal paste, resistors, the correct Pico fuses, AND free live on-Line tech assistance in case you run into a problem with the repair. They ship out 2 to 3 day Priority mail, the next day in most cases GOOD LUCK!!!

Screen dim, black has green in it, contrast and brightness = shin

Since you have replaced the Color Wheel, it sounds like you have not adjusted the Index Delay in the service menu. First reset all of the picture settings you have adjusted back to original factory settings. Then on your Samsung TV Remote and with the TV OFF, Press Mute,Power,123. This will turn on the set and put you in the Service menu. Look for the top setting and select or scroll to the OPTION setting and select and look for INDEX DELAY and select that. Once you have the Index Delay selected use the right and left buttons on the remote to adjust for a picture the has no abnormal coloring and while looking at a program adjust for when the blacks look black with no abnormal coloring. Once that is done, turn off the set then turn the set back on. Now the picture should look normal.

Samsung HLP4663W Black Solarization

The speed of the color wheel needs to adjusted or the CCA values. Both are found in the service menu . If you paid a company to fix the TV, call them and tell them that they forgot to perform these alignments. If you did the repair yourself, you'll have to call around for a price to have a Samsung service center perform these adjustments. I don't recommend consumers access the service menus of modern TVs because one wrong button push and you may cause irrepairable changes to the TV's proper operation.

Manual Controls Not Sufficient

If you have a "Menu" button on the front panel of your set, then you may be able to change settings from the menu this way. If not then you will have to have the original remote to change settings. Stargazer
