Most Samsung Smart TV (Like the Samsung 6000 series Smart TV from 2013/14 have Chrome built-in.
What is your model and year ?
In older units, not sure if it is possible. In the older TVs even if you try to install the app from the browser on the TV. Unfortunately perhaps there is not an option to download an alternate browser on your TV.

with the fault worsening slowly it points to failing capacitors on the power supply Board which is not uncommon for this brand, there are many repair kits available for this brands power supply boards if you feel you are capable of fitting them try Here:

After spending an age on the SKY forum with no luck, I simply googled (Sky remote codes) and clicked on the 1st site, it's skyremotecodes.co.uk then Samsung 6000 series....
