On the HP LaserJet 1320, the attention light is a generic alarm. It can mean out of paper, paper jam, paper misfeed, cartridge missing, or cartridge door open. You can try cleaning the pickup roller or changing the separation pad. You can find these maintenance steps in the user manual starting on page 73 (page 83 of the PDF). HP has the manual here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00208215 . More guides are available on the product page: https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-1320-printer-series/410622/model/410624/manuals . Amazon has the separation pad available here: https://www.amazon.com/RM1-1298-HP-Separation-Tray-P2015/dp/B009SPB1H4 . Links to replacement pickup rollers are on this page. There are probably other sources for the parts as well.

Unfortunately, it can also indicate that a part has broken from paper pickup unit or the door closed sensor isn't working. At my home when our LaserJet 1320 reached ~10 years old, we got this message and decided to replace the printer. It wasn't worth trying to locate and repair the problem when cleaning the pickup roller and paper path didn't work.

I hope this helps.

SOURCE: "cartridge memory error"

To identify the misbehaving cartridge just replace them one by one with another new, preferably HP cartridge. As far as why, HP makes lots of money by ?encouraging? users to buy genuine HP consumables. While HP?s cartridges are uniformly the best available they are are outrageously priced, thus the refill market. In an attempt to kill the remanufacturing market HP now embeds ?chips? in each of their LaserJet cartridges, unfortunately for HP refillers can replace them too. I?ve found several references to this error message and they are always linked it the printer discovering a remanufactured cartridge. In most of the other cases this automatically disables ?economy mode? printing but you can typically bypass the error message by hitting the enter (check) button on the printer.

SOURCE: Nothing printing

I work with Zebra printer on a daily basis and it sounds like you will need to restore the printer to the factory defaults. However if you choose to do this you will remove the network settings, assuming your print has a NIC and you are using it as a network printer. Record the network settings before you default the printer so you have them on hand to re-enter the settings. You will need to enter the Advanced Setup 3 to load the defaults, Once the defaults are reloaded go back into Advanced Setup 3 to re-enter the network settings. This should solve you problem.

SOURCE: epson printer won't print

That sounds a lot like the print spooler has suffered some kind of problem...

Try the following:

  • Click START > Run
  • Type "MMC" and click OK
  • Click on the "File" menu then "Add/Remove Snap-in"
  • Click on "Add..."
  • Select the "Services" snap-in and then click "Add"
  • Select "Local Computer" and then click "Finish"
  • Click "Close" and "OK"
  • Select the "Services (Local)" line
Tip: This is the same thing as going to Control Panel > Adminstrative Tools > Services

From here you:
  • locate the "print spooler" service
  • Right click and choose "Restart"
This will restart the print spooler.

If the spooler is the problem you should be able to send a print job to the printer and it should now start printing.

If not then the chances are this is either a port misconfiguration or a driver error in which case you should try:
  • unplugging the printer (leave it unplugged for now)
  • uninstalling the drivers and software for your printer,
  • restarting your computer
  • download the latest drivers from the epson website
  • install these newest drivers (plug in the printer when prompted to do so)
If the port was misconfigured this SHOULD solve the issue but there's no guarantees... If you're still having issues, post again and we'll go from there..

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Samsung ML-2525W monochrome laser printer;

I have the same problem with mine - first job usually prints but no go on the second one. It tells me the printer is "offline". In some cases I can't even power cycle normally. I have to unplug the back cord and plug it back in, then I can power back on.
I called Samsung today 1-800-726-7864 and was told the printer will need to be taken to a repair center for service. Wish I had better news.

The red triangle light with the "!" in it keeps flashing. I've just printed some things off but now it's not printing. Need it to print obviously..

ATTENTION light(triangle): Indicates that the print-cartridge door is open, print cartridge is missing, and other errors.

If ATTENTION and READY light is blinking:

Printer initialization
The printer is initializing.
No action is necessary.

Cleaning mode
A cleaning page is printing.
Wait until the cleaning page has finished and the printer is in the Ready state.
This could take up to two minutes.

If ATTENTION and READY light is on:

Fatal error
Turn off the printer, and then unplug the printer power cord for 30 minutes.
Plug the printer power cord into the power outlet, and then turn the printer on.
If the error persists, replace the printer.

If ATTENTION light is blinking and READY light is off:

  1. Attention: door open, no print cartridge, or media jam
The printer is in an error state that requires operator intervention.
Check the following:
? The print cartridge door must be completely closed.
? The print cartridge is correctly installed.
? There is no media jam.

2. Out of memoryThe printer is out of memory.
The page you are printing might be too complex for the printer's memory capacity.
Try lowering the resolution.

My lexmark Z2320 printer will not print. It places jobs in queue but still will not print. The green power light constantly flashes quickly once turned on. I have tried unplugging the printer from the main...

The flashing light on the printer indicates there is a problem. Make sure there is no paper jam or cartridges are properly installed. Disconnect the printer from your computer. Remove the sheets of paper from the printer. Open the printer cover and remove the cartridges. Close the cover. Unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, re-insert the cartridges (make sure the cartridges still have ink in them). Close the printer cover and check the power light. If not blinking, proceed with loading of paper. Reconnect the printer to your computer.
Make sure the print queue has no pending print jobs before sending another print job.

Cannot print. Triangle light blinks, I push the green button and it starts turning but almost sounds like it cannot grab the paper. Tray is not too empty or too full.

If the "attention" light is the only light on (in your case blinking) that means that the print cartridge door is open. Pull out the cartridge and make sure that the door closes. Install the cartridge and close the door.

Help!! Triangle with exclamation mark is flashing. What does it mean?

The blinking triangle indicates one of the following: Paper tray is empty, Door open, Paper jam, Misfeed from tray.

To fix it:
Verif that the print cartridge is present and that the print-cartridge door is closed correctly. Verify that media is present in the input tray. Clear any jams and perform paper-path functional checks. To reset the printer after a jam, press the Go button. You might need to clear the error manually, and press the Go button or close the top cover

Issue : One or both Check Print Cartridge lights are blinking. On light Resume light Check Print Cartridge light Paper Type lights On Off Blinking Off Figure 7: Check Print Cartridge light is blinkingc01058982.gif Cause 1

The print cartridge access door is open.

Solution 1

Make sure that the print cartridge access door is completely closed.

Figure 8: Close the print cartridge access doorc00858057.jpg Cause 2

The print cartridges are missing or not seated correctly.

Solution 2

  1. Open the print cartridge access door. Allow the carriage to move to the center of the product.
  2. Make sure that both print cartridges are installed. If one is missing, obtain a compatible print cartridge and install it in the slot. To check the cartridge compatibility for your product, go to HP SureSupply . To identify your cartridge type in a language other than English, click the language link that appears near the globe icon in the top right corner of your browser.
  3. Run a finger along the top of the print cartridges. If any are sticking up, gently press the print cartridge down and forward into the slot until it clicks into place.
  4. Close the print cartridge access door. If a new print cartridge is installed, the product automatically aligns the print cartridges.
  5. Try the print job again.
Cause 3

The plastic tape was not removed from the print cartridge.

Solution 3

  1. Open the print cartridge access door. Allow the carriage to move to the center of the product.
  2. Gently press down on each print cartridge to release it and then slide each print cartridge away from the product, out of its slot.
  3. Turn the print cartridge over so that the ink nozzles are facing up and make sure that the plastic tape has been completely removed from the print cartridge. Remove any plastic tape that remains. CAUTION: Do not touch the ink nozzles or the copper-colored electrical contacts on the print cartridge.

If both are compatible, reinstall the print cartridges, close the print cartridge access door, and continue with the next solution. If the print cartridges are not compatible with the product, replace them with genuine HP print cartridges that are compatible with the product.
Cause 5

The print cartridges might be defective.

Solution 5

My printer won't print. (HP P2015dn)

If the triangle is on and the powe light is on too, is a Manual Feed or Continuable Error

This state can be reached in the following circumstances:
Manual feed,

General continuable error
  • Memory configuration error
  • Personality/Job related errorSOLUTION: To recover from the error and print whatever data is possible, press theGo button. If the recovery is successful, the printer goes to the Processing Data state and completes the job.If the recovery is unsuccessful, the printer returns to the Continuable Error state
another reason is that the cartridge cap may be open or not closed, remove the cartridge and put it again, should work

If you've put a dimm memory (memory expandable to one side of the printer, remove it and try one more time

if you did not work, it may be a fan failure the printer, or the engine, or the DC controller, if that is your problem is preferable to contact an authorized hp.

I have the same machine, it is good quality, and does not give many problems. regards

Whenever I turn the printer on it just keeps printing little weird symbols like one or two lines per page and then goes to the next page and does the same thing just different symbols and it goes on and on...

There is a job in the print queue. At the start of a print job a code is sent saying print the following data as graphics because you have turned the printer off it thinks that all the data is text. You need to delete the job in the print queue. Select the printer in Control Panel>Printers and it should show you a list of print jobs. Delete them

Brother HL-5240 printer problem

This usually means a print job is stuck in the queue that was set to "manual feed" or to a different paper size, such as legal. Add paper to the front manual feed and press "Go". If this is the problem, the stuck document will begin printing from the manual tray.

To clear the problem without printing from the manual feed, cancel all jobs on the printer, delete any jobs out of the Windows print queue and restart the computer.

Attention Light Flashing

Unfortunately, HP didn't make this indicator very descriptive. Their product specification page for this printer states that the blinking Attention light, "indicates that the printer media input trays are empty, the print cartridge door is open, the print cartridge is missing, or other errors".

You've already changed the print cartridge and the light is still blinking, so you should take a look at the other conditions described such as an empty paper tray, open door, and so forth. You also will want to look for a paper jam or carriage jam. These are two very common errors that will result in a blinking Attention light.

HP.com does provide a web page that describes a specific problem associated with a blinking Attention light:

Job Stuck in Queue

See if any of these suggestions work out for you. If not, post back your results along with anything else that you've learned about the problem. Good luck.

Flashing light

Here is what HP has on the subject of the triangle light flashing:
c00028322.gif 1 - Attention Light 2 - Ready Light 3 - Go Light Figure 2: Printer light key c00028323.gif 1 - Symbol for light off 2 - Symbol for light on 3 - Symbol for light blinking
c00028328.gif Door open, media out, no print cartridge, or media jam

The printer is in an error state that requires operator intervention or help. Check the following:
  • The print cartridge door is completely closed.
  • Media is loaded.
  • The print cartridge is correctly installed in the printer.
  • There is no media jam.

Figure 8: Paper jam c00028328.gif 13.JJ.NT JAM IN TRAY 1

13.JJ.NT JAM IN TRAY X

The Attention LED is blinking. Check paper loading then open and close top cover.

When there is a jam in tray 1, verify the paper is loaded correctly, open and close the top cover. Pressing GO is ignored.

When there is a jam in tray X, verify the paper is loaded correctly, open and close the top cover. Pressing GO is ignored. These are the error explanations for just the flashing triangle light, there are many more, but none for just the flashing triangle.

If the light pattern is different let me know (other lights on as well)
-Hope this helps.
