You could have dirty photo cells or some obstruction that the photocells are picking up that triggers the safety mechanism to reopen the gate so that no one gets hurt.
Extreme weather conditions (heat and cold) can damage the electronics in the photo cells too.
Are the batteries low on the transmitter?
Typically, photo cells are (or should be) wired to the control board so that it will stop the gate or barrier during the closing cycle should there be a problem- and should fully open again- just like on automatic garage door openers; it's the exact same principal.
well it seems like you have checcked almost everything. there are two things that come to mind that might be your problem, check the backup battery, messure it while on charge with a multi meter, the reading should be between 13.4v and 14.0v. if this is fine then if you have beams or loops installed try replacing them as they might be faulty.
YOU MUSt test the r.control see the photo atttached, when you hit any key the LED must be ON, and otherwise, you must open the keypads for clean from oxide, corrosion, etc. and clean the springs contacts battery, replace by new ones full charge type alkalynes. and test again.Of ocurse you can have problem too with the control motor.
God bless you
Try to reprogram your remotes.... or replace the batteries even if the l.e.d. still works (it only takes half a volt to make the l.e.d. work but almost the full charge of the batteries are needed to send a working signal.
Need more information. Firstly, engage the manual release inside your motor and then operate gate by hand. Pay attention to any spots that are hard to push, this would indicate some sort of mechanical obstruction causing the motor to stop. Try remove obstruction. Secondly, measure the voltage on your battery while trying to operate the gate. If your battery drops below 11.5V the control board will shut down. If so, replace battery.
Well it seems that their could be a limit switch problem. also if someone has replaced the limit switch they could have not connected the wires back up correctly. if your wiring and switch are correct than you have a bad circuit board. my opinion is to not even fix it and replace the whole opener with a gto-pto gp sl50 They are the most reliable opener out so far and come with all the features that elite charges extra for like a battery backup for instance.
A 12 volt battery needs about 13.5 volts to reach a full charge. It should stay at what ever voltage you bring it up to, with no load connected. Most gate controls are solar charged and should be fine under normal circumstances. Charge the battery with a regular 'automotive' type charger and then test it with a few cycles, open and closing gate. Also check voltage from charger at gate...
