SOURCE: Need to remove top cover of GE WPXQ3090T2WW top load washer

There should be 2 screws holding it on at the rear. Looking from the rear these will be at each top corner. Once these are removed push the lid from the front of the machine towards the rear and it will pop off.

SOURCE: removing cover assembly on GE top load washer

Is your washer a GE Profile Harmony? Do you want to know how to take the top off or the top of the agitor (pulsator)? The top of the washer has four screws in the back top behind the screen once you unscrew them the front of the washer has two clips one on each side and you have to kinda tap it with your palm to get them to pop.

Does anyone know how to remove the top cover of the LG wm-2277 hw after the screws are removed from the back ? Have a water leak up toward the top of machine but cannot reach without removing the top ....

Disconnect the LG front load washer power cord from the wall outlet. Turn off the water supply to the washer at the water spigots coming from the wall.

Pull the washer 3 feet away from the wall, and disconnect the water supply hoses from the water inlet valve ports on the back of the washer. You may need a pair of channel lock pliers to loosen the hose connections.

Remove the screws securing the back of the top panel to the back of the washer with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Depending upon your model, you will have either two or four screws to remove.

Lift the back of the top panel up, and slide the top panel toward the rear wall, which will unhook the top panel from the clips securing the panel in the front of the washer. Lift the top panel off the washer and out of your working area.

Water pooling in washer in between loads

The problem is caused by a leaking water inlet valve and the only way to solve it is by replacing the water inlet valve assembly. It is an easy "do-it-yourself" fix that only requires a minimum effort.

Water Inlet Valve Replacement Procedure
  1. Remove the three screws at the back of the machine holding the top cover.
  2. Slide the top cover to the back and lift it from the washer.
  3. Put a bucket or pan under the inlet valves.
  4. Remove the fill hoses from the machine and drain the water into the bucket or pan to avoid flooding your floor.
  5. Remove the screws holding the water inlet valve assembly to the back of the machine.
  6. Use a pair of pliers to press the spring clamp holding the inlet hose to the inlet valve assembly and move the spring clamp away.
  7. Install the new water inlet valve assembly and all other parts disassembled in reverse order of the procedure above.
  8. Make sure to clean the fill hose filters, if there's any, before attaching it to the water inlet valve assembly.

HOW DO YOU REMOVE AND REPLACE WATER INLET VALVE ON FRIGIDAIRE LTF2140FS1

remove the screws holding the top panel on, they are located on the back at the top. Standing at the front of the washer, push top panel towards rear, then lift up and remove. Notice the water inlet valves on the rear left while facing the washer front. Unplug washer, then remove the mounting screws holding valve assy onto machine, on some fridg's there are 2 screws holding an inlet valve assy onto the dispenser underneath the valve assy, they are very hard to get to. Remove valve assy from washer and replace. Remember to mark wiring locations as needed.

Code will not tell which is faulty. To remove top: after removing three phillips head screws (leaving the L shaped part attached to the top) slide the top back about one and a half inches and lift it straight up.
