You've got it on Time Lapse video. Turn on, slide to video, press func. set button, toggle to standard instead of time lapse. Always check your owners manual.

SOURCE: Canon PowerShot SD 870 IS Movie playback speed is too fast!

You've got it on Time Lapse video. Turn on, slide to video, press func. set button, toggle to standard instead of time lapse. Maybe next time try your owners manual. Of course you all are probably like my mom and just get a new camera, put in the batteries and start taking pictures. These stupid expensive cameras have too many options and get messed up too easily with the wrong press of the button. Try a simple cheap on next time.

SOURCE: how to transfer pictures from my Canon PowerShot

There are two ways of doing this:

  1. Install the software on the CD that came with the camera, then use the USB cable that came with the camera to connect it to the computer. The software should walk you through the rest of the process.
  2. Buy an SD card reader (example Card Reader from Amazon.com), connect it to your computer, and take out the SD memory card from the camera, and insert it into the appropriate card slot on the card reader. Then use whatever photo management software to manage your photos.
I would recommend the second method since it reduces the wear and tear on your camera and allows you to access the photos easier through Windows Explorer or Finder (MacOS).
Hope that helps!

SOURCE: lens error, restart camera for canon power shot SX120 IS

This is probably THE most common failure among digital cameras. There's a halfway chance of fixing it yourself, described here:

SOURCE: The time and date setting

CoolJoe72 only posted one answer, but it was a good one, and it applies directly to you. Check it out here: http://www.fixya.com/support/t313710-having_reset_date_time .

(The short answer is that you need to change the date battery, which you'll find under the terminal cover; it's a CR1220.)

Playback for movies on digital camera plats way too fast

I had the same problem. You have the recording setting on time lapse and there is no sound.
Set the recording on to standard by turning the round wheel at the back of your camera. I did not read the manual until I had this problem and I ended up making useless fast videos with no sound. Hope I am right?

No sound with movies

Make sure that you don't block the microphone with your finger while shooting a movie. The microphone is a small opening just forward of the shutter button.

If the microphone is clear and you are still not getting sound, it may be that the microphone or connections to the processor have gone bad.
