I had a snap or maybe you could describe it is a loud pop and then lost video on my JVC MDL# LT-55UE76 SN#131p8754 HDTV. Power light is on, and the sound works. Do you think it is the T-Con board?

you need a new bulb our's did the same thing.get it on ebay, it's much cheaper & don't take it to a repair shop they will charge you an arm and a leg.you can replace it yourself,we did.we paid $183.00 on ebay,verses $414.00 everywhere else.

first thing check the connections. check and test the continuity on the power or the main board.
and there a possibility that you have a damaged screen.

the loud pop sounds occur usually due to blown capacitor. Make sure none of the capacitor are burnt. Please look carefully since sometimes you dont notice a small crack in it which causes the pop.
If not, no video sounds like video unit is faulty.
Again have a look on the circuit board if any component has burnt.

I suspect that your supply has gone bad. You will need to find the service manual for voltage measurements. If you want to get replacement boards many can be found on ebay or you can check www.shopjimmy.com they stock boards for many units and I have had no problems.

hmm i had the same problem the saturday before on my lt-42x579but i didnt have anything hooked up to it blue light came on then flashed ..no pic this happend one week after it was pd off from a rental store we should investigate
