What can I use at home to give a 14 jr old dog to relieve an enlarged heart?

  • Bill Jamieson Oct 03, 2019

If your dog can walk and can go to the bathroom without aide, then enjoy him or her the rest of their lives. There is no reason to give a Vet 200 dollars, plus meds to just cause the dog more stress. Many times owners will go to great lengths trying to squeeze another several months out of the pets life, but I would suggest giving your dog great dosages of love at this stage of his life. He will die at home and not on a cold stainless steel table and I believe you owe him that much. It's probably not a popular answer, but I have raised GSP 43 years, and have never had a dog put down by a vet. Comfort them and believe it or not, dogs die naturally.

An enlarged heart is a chronic heart condition. Try to gradually get your pet to a normal weight. Later congestive heart failure can be managed by your vet with prescription medication (s). Good luck. Routine light exercise can help, but the heart does not go back to normal size.

The only one that is supposed to be used is regular aspirin. Tylenol and advil are not good choices for dogs.

What is an enlarger?

As an engine is the heart of a car, so is an enlarger the heart of a darkroom. It is the instrument through which negatives are brought to life. Along with a good lens, it is the enlarger that the rest of the darkroom is built around. A darkroom can have the best plumbing, a great stereo and stainless steel trays, but without a good enlarger and lens, it can be hard to produce quality images.

I have brought a tesco onebody heart rate monitor and watch are there any online instructions as the instructions with it are to small for me to read

What may be easier, is to take the instructions you have to a local copy center have them make a copy in an enlarged format. Or have someone take it to work with them and have them make an enlarged copy for you. Most office copiers will enlarge the print.
