SOURCE: stove trips breaker

Begin by unplugging the pellet stove and using an extension cord, plug the pellet stove into a different circuit, with a different breaker. It is possible that the breaker itself is faulty. If you prove that the problem is in the breaker, replace it. If the new circuit also trips, then you will have to assume that the stove cord, or the stove mechanism is faulty and either repair or replace it. good luck with it. let me know.

SOURCE: purchased a used earth stove mp240 pellet stove

The auger motor is fed through a high temp. limit thermostat. It has a manual reset on the back of it that you have to press on firmly to reset it. Open the side panel on the stove and find the wiring. You will see the thermostat on the back side of the combustion chamber. Look very closely and reset it.
good luck!

Alternative Heating Pellet Stoves and Pellet Inserts

Pellet stoves usually use wood pellets as their primary heat source. A pellet stove is defined as a stove that burns either compressed wood or biomass pellets to make heat to warm a home or other space.

Pellet stoves come as either free-standing units or fireplace pellet inserts which can be vented into an existing chimney. As an insert, you are able to replace your wood burning stove with this efficient and cost effect stove. Inserts also give the homeowner more of the look of a fireplace than that of a pellet stove. Pellet inserts can also be a great alternative for people who have busy lifestyles and are looking to get the beauty of a fire but prefer a cleaner burning renewable heat source.

Pellet stoves are freestanding structures that can give you the feeling that an old pot bellied stove did, tucked into a corner of a living room, den, or kitchen. Either the pellet inserts or freestanding stoves are a great alternative heating solution for keeping a house warm during the winter.

Many stove manufacturers recommend the using a corn and pellet mixture, but some are UL listed for many fuels other than pellets. These can include wheat, corn, sunflower seeds, and cherry pits.

Pellet stoves are a bit more efficient, burn cleaner, and are easier to use than conventional wood burning stoves. Pellet stoves often look very similar to wood stoves or fireplace inserts, however the similarities end there.

If you are considering burning alternative fuels then you will want to look into a pellet stove as a great way to heat your home. Pellet stoves and pellet insets have many great advantages over regular wood stoves that make them a practical heat for busy lifestyles.

Kozi pellet stove wont lite keeps blowing fuse

If your Kozi pellet stove has an igniter (located in a steel tube under the fire pot), check to make sure the igniter isn't shorted out (dead short).

I recently purchased a used Kozi 100XL that had an igniter that was bad. I also found that, prior to me buying the stove, the old igniter had been twisted inside its steel tube under the fire pot bringing its two wires at the end of the igniter together. These touching wires likely were throwing circuit breakers for the previous owner of the stove but, by the time I bought the unit, this had resulted in a burned wire at the fan thermal switch where one of the igniter wires connects. After repairing the burned wire, I plugged the stove back in and a house circuit breaker was thrown. A new igniter repaired the problem.

BTW, Kozi has a better than excellent online customer service who will likely walk you through any problems with your stove. They did for me even though they knew my stove had been purchased used.

When I turn grill on it throws the breaker

Try a different outlet, maybe the breaker is bad with the one you are using. The hot rod could be bad as this seems to be a problem with Treager grills. They should be under warrenty so call and have one sent to you. To check the hot rod, unplug your grill and the reach up from the bottom and unplug the purple wire. Plug the grill back in and see if it will start. If it does, it is the hot rod.

I have an Afton bay pellet stove .Its about 2 years old but never been used. every time I try to start it, it trips the breaker

Possibly the fan motor is seized. Have you had a look at it? if you do, unplug the unit and turn the squirrel cage on that fan by hand. If it does not turn than it has seized. You might be able to squirt some dry lube(silicon) into motor shaft bearings to unsieze it. Otherwise the Mfr can sell you a fan.
