Try to elevate the 4 hard rubber footing with some metal thing or another piece of wood. anyway the toasting will last only few minutes

I tried to locate the manual with google, but unfortunately had no success. You could ask some specialized manual search engines, like here or here. The services are not for free, but most times worthy - saved my live more than once.

I like the pyramid club idea - it doesn't look that hard to replace - I'm going to offer mine up locally and see if anyone else has a half working black and decker for spare parts.
