SOURCE: Kenmore 80 Series - water wont fill to full load

remove edge decore trims from left and right side front of control panel8b608f8.jpg
remove phillips screws from bottom corners of contol panel
remove knob from water level selector
raise control panel ~1 inch then flip over backwords on pivots
depress lock tab on right/underside of water level control body where it touches metal mount plate
rotate water level control body 45deg anti clockwise
pull body off
top side of body next to knob shaft is 1/8 hex head bolt
turn clockwise to rais water level
anticlockwise to lower water level
machine can be operated with this part not fitted so can check level. fill, adjust screw, fill will start again, adjust screw, until water level is correct
reinstall in reverse order
Incidentally, the cause is a VERY small wire spring inside the control body that is not really up to the task, and stretches over years.
Its a common occurrence, and I make this repair, on callouts, no parts required, couple times a month you may have to flip the switch to reset to get the water to restart filling

SOURCE: my kenmore 400 washer fills but nothing else

Lid switch is still most likely the problem. Are you able to unplug washer from wall and check the wire connected to the switch.

SOURCE: Kenmore 80 Series- Washer does not fill up with

Check if the volume of water supplied to the washer from the water line through the hoses attached to it is good. If yes, the screen inside the water-inlet valve if it is clean. If clean, the water inlet valve is defective and you need to replace it. The water inlet valve is located inside the washer on the upper back portion. It is where the water supply hoses are attached to.

Washer fills with water and then won't do anything else. Doesn't advance to agitate cycle. Can manually move to spin and still doesn't do anything. Don't hear any sounds from machine.

sounds like the lid switch is broken. these washers will not spin or drain if the switch is not working. open lid and close slowly listen for a click sound. if you hear no sound the switch is bad. sometimes the switches are broken and if you look at the space between the top of the tub and the cabinet you will see it hanging.

Kenmore washer 110 fills with water but does not wash or advance to next cycle

Sounds like the timer, can you advance the timer yourself? If you need to see if will run with the lid open, just use a screw driver to see if that door switch is working properly..

Water fills in, but wash cycle won't start. spin cycle works, changed motor still won't work

Its either in the lid switch or timer. Examine the lid switch. Try starting the wash cycle and press in on lid switch to make sure it activates. If the lid switch is good and you dont hear the motor trying to activate during wash than its in the timer. Does the timer advance? Please comment me back If you need further assistance.

Kenmore heavy duty 70 series model 82763110

set the load size to small, fill with water.

now after it fills with water do you hear anything? motor noise?

If you hear motor noise, it probably has a broken motor coupler.

if it doesnt do anything I would look at the lid switch and activator, the lid has to close and the switch has to know it closed. did the tab on the lid break off?

70 series Kenmore washer

POWERUP, YOUR WASHER COULD BE THE LID SWITCH OR THE COLD WATER VALVE. AT THE END OF THE WASH CYCLE, THE MOTOR WILL SPIN OUT THE WATER, BUT ONLY IF THE LID SWITCH IS ACTUATED. IF THE SWITCH IS BAD, IT WILL NOT SPIN OUT THE WATER AND THE TIMER WILL NOT ADVANCE FROM THAT POINT.
IF THE WASHER SPINS, THE NEXT STEP IS TO FILL WITH WATER FOR THE RINSE CYCLE. MOST WASHERS USE COLD WATER FOR RINSES. IF THE COLD WATER VALVE IS RESTRICTED OR FAULTY, THE WASHER WON'T FILL. IF THE WASHER WON'T FILL, THE WATER LEVEL SWITCH WON'T ACTIVATE AND THE TIMER WON'T ADVANCE TO THE NEXT STEP.
