Take this with a grain of salt, but I think the brushes usually come out with a slug with a place for a LARGE flat screwdriver to unscrew them. Usually the brushes just pop out then, and you can put in new ones. I may have misread the question...

Hello, No such thing as a "dumb question"... everybody learns something for the first time. The safety is a button located just behind the trigger mechanism ( about where your thumb would be during operation) and must be pushed prior to squeezing the trigger. Since it is a selling feature of any item to have an operator's manual with the item, I am attaching the link to the english version.
