Unfortunately, most TVs only support closed captions on the RF (OTA or analog cable without a set-top box) input. For other sources, the captions are enabled at the source device or app.
The Samsung Series 8 UA65TU8000KXXS does support some subtitled files from the USB drive. However, the support is limited to select subtitle and video formats. What is the format for these videos? See page 134 of the E-manual for details; the menu section on the subtitles is shown starting on page 222.

Polaroid turn off subtitles tv related problems. ... ...subtitles on certain channels? go into menu or setup on remote there ... Not finding what you are looking for?
The receiver manual may list it under "CC" (closed captions) instead of subtitles. Also, don't just check your AV receiver; try checking the setup menu on your TV, and look at the TV remote. See if there's a CC setting that may be turned on, either through the TV setup (probably under the "Display" or "Video" tab) or because you've accidentally pushed the CC (or Subtitles) button on the TV remote.
There should be a button on the remote control to turn on and off the subtitles. On three of my Samsung products the subtitle button is marked as "subtitle"
Best Regards,
It seems that subtitle file must have exactly same name as movie file.
For example:
Movie file: Mission impossible.avi
Subtitle file: Mission impossible.srt or Mission impossible.sub
or
Movie file: Mission_impossible.avi
Subtitle file: Mission_impossible.srt
Hiya, have bought an Alba 26" LCD TV myself today. If you go into the menu and then into subtitles change it from English to Dutch. This should solve the problem. :-)
The only remote that will definitely turn the sat subtitles on/off is the sat remote. The other subtitle buttons on the other remotes refer to the DVD subtitles and the subtitles generated by the tuner in the tv. The subtitle option is greyed out on the tv because you are not on the tv tuner.
