Have an old Bosch Clasixx 1200 washing machine that has been a great workhorse for many years. However, lately the laundry is cold when the cycle finishes. Is there a part that I needs replacing?

The cycle completes without issue but the laundry used to be hot/warm on completion. Now it is totally cold immediately after the wash finishes.

First check the if there's a debris screen on the got water inlet, as it may be plugged. Make sure the hot water volume is good. With hot water hose disconnected at the washer, put end of hose in bucket and turn on hot water. You should get 20L (5Gal) a minute minimum. If water volume is good and screens are not plugged, then likely the hot water inlet valve has seized. Could be both hot/cold valves are integrated so both get changed. Not a bad idea to just do them both if separate hot/cold valve.
If you know how to use a volt meter you could check power at the hot valve to make sure its not a control issue or swap the control wires and select a warm temp cycle. If you get cold water then its not a control issue.(dont forget to put wires back)

This machine has always only been used with a cold water inlet only. I have definitely experienced warm/hot laundry in the past

I make no sense of "only been used with a cold water inlet". How do I reconcile "used to be hot/warm on completion" when you apparently only have cold water connected? Please rephrase the problem?

  • daveyburton Mar 14, 2019

Machine takes input from a cold water source only. Always has.
In the past the machine would heat the water and on completion the laundry would be warm to the touch.
    Now it is always cold.

Now I understand. Thank you. So something with water heating element relay or control. I'll get back to you. See if I can find more specific to this model... apparently no one else knows much about this one either.

    Thanks Carl. Appreciate it.
This is a really old machine but it has been good to us.
Would be nice to repair rather than replace.

Do you believe hot 90C is reaching 90C? or is it significantly less. I suspect

If it is leaking from the waste pump area it may be blocked by a small piece of clothing like a sock or something similar! This will also cause it to take too long to complete a cycle. Remove the rubber hose onto the waste pump and check inside the hose and the pump, make sure the pump spins freely and that nothing is stuck in the hose pipes leading to the pump

Just been through this with our Bosch Maxx, problem was the pump discharge pipe was blocked with soap deposits. I also removed the large black rubber pipe from the drum/pump and cleaned this out as well.
All working fine now.

(E4) There is a round door on the lower front of the washer. There is a small hole near the door. Put a small screwdriver blade in the hole, push in just a little, and you can rotate the door clockwise, the door will come out and you can get to the problem. When the water is drained in machine the door is open able.

Immediately facing you is a black connector, about 4 inches (10cm) in diameter. When you unscrew this, all the water left in the washer will spill out onto the floor. Use a plastic bag to catch this or a small pan.(later models have a drain hose?) The black connector unscrews counterclockwise, and takes quite a few turns. Once you have it out, you'll find the source of your clog. Remove it, clean out, screw the black connector back in. You can check with rinse, if you want to make sure there are no leaks. Put the door back on and rotate. I will try to come back to you re. the wash, wash.

How to fix Bosch Classixx 6 washing machine pump fault

My Bosch Classixx 6 Express 1200 washing machine suddenly developed three faults at the same time, with no fault codes. The water pump, fill and spin cycles all stopped at the same time. I found that the one of the pump wires had come loose from the connector plug. This will not only stop the drum from emptying but will prevent the machine from filling and also stops the spin cycle. These are all interconnected and controlled by the water pump, which has to be working and connected. Hope this helps. My 11 year old machine is now working perfectly. ,
