There are no user serviceable parts in this device. unplug it for 2 minutes- make sure the reservoir is filled with water, and the power is off- plug it in and turn thee power on- wait for the ready light to illuminate and try to use it.
good luck

SOURCE: Had nice steam when started, then no more steam.

Hi signashuff,

Sounds like you are on the right track. Since all seems to be working and you can hear gurgling, i.e. steam being made, then the the passages are plugged. The vinegar and water trick will clean the reservoir, but you still have to clean all the openings in the ironing surface. Have you done that?

Another vinegar trick to try is mixing hot water, vinegar and baking soda and pouring that into the iron while it is still frothing. Let the iron sit for 30 minutes on the soleplate with iron on steam. Then run some clear water through it and use it on a fabric you don't care about for the first session.

If that doesn't work, you might try a commercial cleaner such as CLR, Faultless Hot Iron Cleaner, Whink Steam Iron Cleaner, or Lime Away.

Distilled water is good to use in your iron but it still has minerals in it that will build up over time. It just takes longer to build up than tap water.

Hope this helps. If it does, I'd appreciate a 4 thumbs up. Keeps me working here. :>)
Thanks,

Handie Andie

My iron has stopped heating up although lights still flashing and stop to tell me it's heated but still cold

Soak the base in vinegar and water for two hours, shake it and see the junk come out. Repeat with fresh vinegar and water. Leave the iron in the airing cupboard overnight to dry out internal condensation. Next day half fill iron with vinegar and water leave two hours, empty. Plug in it will likely heat up again so put water in the iron and heat it up then unplug use the calc clean and shake it over the sink

What could be stopping the water in the holding tank not going in the steam tank on my Perfect Care Iron ?

most likely is mineral build up. drain out the water and replace with white vinegar, warm up the iron and allow it to sit until you see steam (several minutes to half an hour) if no steam, replace the iron.

How to clean siemen extreme power iron

A solution of white vinegar and water is a good cleaner for irons. Steam irons get clogged with mineral deposits, and vinegar works well to dissolve those deposits. Make a 50/50 solution of the vinegar and water and pour it in the iron, and place the iron on steam, allowing the solution to work thru the iron. You may have to do the cleaning a few times, depending on how clogged the iron is.

For future reference, use distilled water in the iron, because distilled water does not contain any significant amount of minerals. Distilled water can be found in the supermarket in one gallon jugs.

Alternatively, use in your steamfast
  1. Fill the steamer with an equal part solution of water and household vinegar and let this soak for an hour.
  2. Once the hour is up, shake steamer to adgitate
  3. Then, empty the steamer and add a couple cups of mixture through machine.
  4. If you don't have any vinegar to hand, try lemon juice!

SAND LIKE SUBSTANCE COMING OUT OF IRON

Yes, there is a "Solution" you could use in the reservoir to remove the crud. First of all, STOP using tap water. What you have is mineral deposits inside your iron from using tap water. Use ONLY steam distilled water. I usually find this at my grocery store.
To clean out your iron, use white vinegar in your iron instead of water. This is to CLEAN the iron ONLY! Do NOT use to press cloths! And make sure the steam and/or water flow very clear (free from "sand", dirty water/steam or any other contaminates BEFORE using iron to press your cloths. You may need to flush the iron with water (remember, steam distilled ONLY) more than once to get all of the vinegar out.
Hope this helps...

My steam iron will not steam. How do I clean it?

Mix (1 to 5 parts) white vinegar in distilled water and pour into the reservoir. Let sit for an hour or so, then pour out through a coffee filter into a container, then pour back into the iron for another hour. At this point, heat the iron and try the steamer function. The vinegar solution will clean deposits from the steam jets, so don't try to iron anything yet. Keep running solution through until sputtering stops. Wash out the reservoir with distilled water, then refill and steam wash the ports several times to remove the vinegar. If you can get it clean, continue to use only distilled water in the iron.

Tefal Pro Express - Constant Steam

Found this on another site and just tried it. Put 50/50 water and vinegar in the tank and leave it to go through on the constant steam. Give it about 5 minutes then try the button. Mine gave an extra spurt of steam at this point but still continued giving steam out all the time. I refilled with the water vinegar mix and just kept pressing the steam button and letting it go through. Eventually it fixed it and the constant steam stopped. Something to do with a piece of limescale blocking the solenoid but that's all Greek to me! Hope this helps. Kind regards.
