What to fix if a Frigidaire Washer - FTF2140FS1 - fills with water after the wash is complete?

Basically, I did a load of laundry, removed the clothing, and the tub has no water in it. The spin cycle worked. However, the next morning there is standing water in the tub, why? What is the likely cause and probable fix?

SOURCE: tub fills with water without running the washing machine

This is often caused by a water inlet valve that is leaking by, or a pressure switch malfunction. The following link explains how to troubleshoot and repair:

SOURCE: Water comes back in and stands after cycle is run

I'm not sure what washer you have but a lot of washers have an additional spin cycle. If you left the lid open, then it would only fill with water then sit until the lid is closed. Try making sure the lid is closed next time you empty it and see if the water is in there the next morning. I hope this helps. Good luck!

Why does my front loading washer leave brown stains on some loads?

Hello friend, I appreciate your post!

I see you're getting brown stains on some of your loads of laundry within your Frigidaire washer. I have completed some research in regards to brown stains and that could be iron or manganese in the water supply, water pipes, or water heater. In order to restore discolored loads try a rust remover safe for fabric. Do not use chlorine bleach to remove these stains as it may intensify discoloration. I hope this is helpful. -Matt

Instructions
things you'll need:

* Laundry detergent
* Clean cloths
* Measuring tape
* Plywood (if necessary)
* Wrench (if necessary)
1.Verify that the Kenmore top-loading washing machine is completely plugged into a grounded, three-prong power outlet. Reset the fuse or circuit breaker, if necessary; do not plug the washing machine into an extension cord.
2.Make adjustments to the feet on the washing machine if it is shaking or vibrating. The front and rear feet must all be touching the floor evenly. If the floor under the machine is flimsy and cannot adequately support the washer, set a 3/4-inch piece of plywood under the machine for better stability. Load the tub evenly when placing items inside the washing machine and do not overload the tub.
3.Examine the washing machine drum, including between the inner and outer basket, if the machine is clicking or rattling during use. Remove loose objects from inside the drum. If objects are caught between the drums, unplug the washing machine and pull the items out with a pair of pliers, if possible.]
4.the fill hoses behind the washing machine if there are water leaks and ensure the drain hose is connected to a laundry tub or drainpipe. Look at the plumbing throughout the home for drainage problems and correct as necessary.
5.Turn on the water valves behind the washing machine and clean the water inlet hose screens if the water is not running or filling. Do not overload the tub, and use only high-efficiency (marked HE) laundry detergent in high-efficiency Kenmore washers. Note that energy-efficient washing machines often use less water than other machines; this is normal.
6.Choose a wash cycle with a higher spin speed if the water is not draining as expected or items are extremely wet when washing is complete. Reduce overall load size and select a new drain/spin cycle to remove the extra water from the washer. Ensure the drain hose is properly installed on a drainpipe or tub and is not set more than 96 inches above the floor.
7.Reduce the number or volume of items inside the washer tub if the clothes are not rinsed when the cycle is complete. Verify that the water valves are turned on and the correct type and amount of laundry detergent is used.

Why does it take so long to run a load of laundry in my GE Profile front loading washer?

Check the water supply, if the water supply is restricted in some way it will take a long time to fill, the m/c may need to fill 4 or 5 times in a complete wash.

Mildrew, stale water smell in laundry

Run a very hot wash on your machine with no load

Fill a bucket with a strong solution of soda crystals and pour it into the machine first

Add some more crystals to the soap dispenser

Use an old fashioned soap powder for a couple of washes as well and reduce the load slightly

Modern soap powders do not contain certain bleaches and soda and the 40 degree wash leaves body fats and oils inside which cause odours

Frigidaire Washer - FTF2140FS1 - fills with water, but won't complete cycle

The water level sensor or float switch may be faulty. If the unit does not sense that the water is at the right level nothing will happen.When the water filling rate appears very slow, the inlet water filters may be clogged. Although not that common the inlet solenoid valve can jam and only partially lift.The cycle timer or program circuit board may be faulty
