How do I remove the cover from my hoover nextra HNV170-80 mega load tumble dryer? I need to replace the pulleys but can’t seem to get inside the machine.

Check for Lint/Dirt in the Drain and then you need to ensure it is fully connected in the Washer to the Drain...

id check for fluff inside the machine casing.............blocking the air flow...........

Thanks for using FixYa. It seems to be the issue with the Thermal Fuse going bad and needs to be replaced. It is mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. Whenever this fuse goes bad it'll either trip the circuit breaker or the dryer wont heat. You can also check it for continuity with an ohm meter, no continuity means the fuse is bad and you need to replace it. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Either your heating element went out or your thermostat (which regulates the temp).

under top cover there are 2 thermal cut outs to reset.situated centre front

it has been a while since i worked on one of these, but I might be able to talk you through it, first make sure you have the correct bits to replace. i.e. the inside of the handle and the latch match the same that is on that you can see before you go any further.
using a torx size 15 I think remove the two screws on the door hindge, and then remove door by pushing up by a 1/4" then the hindge should pull away from the machine. using a torx size 10 then proceed to remove the four screws from the inside of the door frame, ease the door pannels appart and the glass bowl and lock should be exposed. there should be a further two screws holding the latch in place, just be careful when taken these out as they may be under load from a spring, note the positions of the latch and replace all back in reverse order.

The belt can be replaced as follows.
1 remove top and front of dryer shell
2 belt goes around drum around motor pully then under tentioner wheel
3 replace front and top of dryer
(top pops off use a slotted screw driver)

My guess is that the heater element has gone out. There could also be a lint clog in the exhaust vent...it takes air out through the filter...across the heater element....and back through the tumbler to heat the clothes. This is usually what causes heat elements to go out is the excess lint that gets on them and causes them to overheat and burn out!

you have to open the dryer and lubricate the rollers, these are the parts that normally make the squealing sounds.
