I have a Compair compressor 105 which was serviced recently. After full service, the compressor now spitting oil through the air filter. This happens the moment it stops after reaching cut off pressure. The oil produces smoke and it goes back through air filter. What could be the reason for this

Possibly the inlet valve is not shutting completely. When the compressor shuts off tg he inlet should close allowing pressure to be blown down thru the blow down valve. If the inlet does not close completely the pressure air/ oil can be pushed out tg he inlet.

I'm no expert, but it sounds like maybe too much oil was put in? Maybe a seal is failing and allowing oil out?
Are you talking about the filter for the compressed air, or the motor? It sounds like the latter.

SOURCE: Air leakage through pressure switch needle

1)Let your unit pump up.
2)Turn it off.
3)Find the supply line from the pump to the tank.
4)Remove the supply line from the pump head.
5a)If you hear air coming from the tank you have a bad check valve.
5b)If you do not hear air coming from the tank, you have a leaky
pressure switch.

SOURCE: Low oil pressure light goes on until car warms up. Oil level is good

The oil pressure sending unit has gone bad. I sending unit is just above the oil filter and you can get to it from the top. When you face the Engine look down towards the oil filter, the oil pressure sending unit is just above that and it looks like a cylinder with two wires coming from it. If you don't see it, it's right between the exhaust manifold and oil filter.
If you go to Auto Zone or Parts Source, they'll have the oil pressure sending unit and the step by step instructions, When installing the new sensor. Do not use teflon tape or any sealant, the sensor is tapered and need's the good ground from the engine to give you right readings.
Good luck and hope this helps.

Check the oil pressure wire attached to the gauge usually in the engine compartment. Dirt can interfere with the signal causing a short which will give you the symptoms you describe. Hope this helps

SOURCE: why does my compreeor switch release the air after

There are two valves in play here. There is a relief valve that opens when the motor kicks off to release the pressure in the compressor itself. That is normal, and is required so that the motor can restart next time without having to overcome that pressure. The other valve is the problem. It is a reed valve between the compressor and the tank. This valve's job is to prevent the air in the tank from returning to the compressor. Think of it as a ratchet for the air. It is this reed valve that has failed.

2002 Buell Blast is spitting oil from the crankcase breather hose. What do I do?

Question edited for clarity.
Question moved to Buell Blast.

On a bike with no service history it would be standard practice to change oil and filter.

It seems to be a known issue.

QRS-15 CP Rotoray screw. Is it OK to use Amsoil 20W synthetic compressor oil to top of the original ISO 68 oil it came with? Thanks Jon Owen

G'day.
I guess only if the ISO 68 oil is also a full synthetic- otherwise no.
I would not mix them.
I would want to change all the oil & ALL the filters (including the seperator) before switching between a mineral & synthetic oil.

So it would be much safer/better to top up with the same oil until the next scheduled service & then switch to the better synthetic oil.

I hope this helped(I ran a compressor repair buisness in Sydney for 10 yrs)
Kind regards Andrew Porrelli

I've got a compair 660A air compressor and have oil leaking out of the body of the oil pump cover.

I didn't think this was a pressure lubed machine. Is it leaking around the shaft seal, behind the flywheel? If it's just the oil leak, and the unit runs/sounds fine otherwise, you could put a gasket and seal kit in it.

You can search online for parts, but probably have better luck calling it a LeRoi 660A. Compair bought them years ago, and let the piston compressor business slowly die.

Compressor spits out oil when unit is stopped

MIGHT CAN HELP. NOT AN I.R. EXPERT BUT KNOW A GOOD BIT ABOUT SCREW COMP. ARE YOU SHUTTING UNIT DOWN SUDDENLY WITH EMERGENCY STOP OR SOMETHING. SOME UNITS DO THIS MORE THAN OTHERS BECAUSE THE WAY THE VALVE CLOSES. BURPING OIL THROUGH THE INTAKE IS ALSO CAUSED BY SUDDEN STOP INSTEAD OF THE UNIT SLOWLY SHUTTING DOWN AND THE OIL IS RUNNING BACK SLOWLY. THE UNIT ACTUALLY TURNS BACKWARDS A LITTLE BIT. YOUR OIL SHOULD NOT COST THAT MUCH. YOU CAN CONTACT ME FOR PARTS AND PRICING ON THE OIL. YOU CAN SAVE ALOT OF MONEY WITH AFTERMARKET SERVICE PARTS AND OIL -THEYRE JUST AS GOOD AS OEM.I WOULDNT USE 30W OIL ! YOUR POOR AIR DELIVERY MAY BE AFFECTED BY WORN PARTS DUE TO LUBRICATION. HOW OLD IS UNIT? MODEL # ? CONTACT ME [email protected] FOR INFO & PRICING. ME AND 1 TECH WOULD PROBABLY COME DOWN AND FIX IT FOR YOU FOR AN ALL EXPENSE TRIP FOR FREE. WE ARE IN NC AND DONT GET OUT ENOUGH.
