Hi David
Use a Multimeter & check for continuity in filament.
Your vehicle has a 12v Battery? Right?
Connect bulb across 12v battery using jumper wires to either side of bulb. (Out of Circuit)
Otherwise the Neutral switch is out of position or damaged.
Bulb in circuit will probably have 12v on one side and the Neutral Switch provides the ground to make it light.
If it is a bulb that is blown... I would replace it with an LED.
You can even make your own LED replacement with a simple standard LED from the local electronics parts store, any colour. Just be sure to add a 560 to 1K ohm resistor in series to limit the current from the 12volt circuit.
Then it will never blow again.
