SOURCE: Heating element Zanussi washing machine

remove the back, the element is at the bottom of the drum tis maybe a split cabinet, where the lid comes off the it splits down the middle like cracking an egg, loads of screws, hard to describe, also 2 at bottom at the side in the middle, behind 2 plastic lugs, when removed the back half of the cabinet comes away, not an easy job until you have seen it done if you really are stuck try and send me an e mail address and i will send you a drawing, then you will see its easy, i am an engineer of 20 years and done loads, its easy job to do once you know how to split the cabinet

You can check the heating element with an ohmmeter and it should read a few hundred ohms. Don't know about the thermostat but it should be inline electrically with the heating element and should ohm as a short when cold.

have you checked the filter behind the flap on the front of the machine, this could be blocked. if the machine is full of water though you will have to manually drain it by putting the grey outlet hose into a bucket or a washing up bowl. you will also need one or two towels to place on the floor because there wil still be a bit of water left in the ipes even though the drum is empty.

hope this helps

The machine AEG L 75270 FL does not heat water.

Could be the heater element or the thermal fuse which is wired in series with the element. The Thermal fuse is a safety device which cuts out power to the heater if something goes wrong with it ot if the heater comes on with no water in the machine. Also check the wiring connections to the heater as well. Sometimes, they can get hot and burn off.

Dryer on zanussi zwd1471w not working, new element has been fitted

Most often that I have found that when a dryer doesn't heat it's not the heating element. But more often one of the temp limit switches. Either the upper or lower limit. An ohm meter can check these.

Hoover SE220 washing machine. Poor results & a few bits of powder remaining in clothes - looks like water is not heating. The machine completes cycle ok but tried a 90 degree wash with machine...

its more likely to be the heater element the temp sensor is fitted to this, remove the rear of the unit and at the bottom of the back of the drum there is a nut and either side there are 2 wires remove them and undo the nuts first nut holds the earth second nut remove but not all the way, un clip the connector for the thermostat, with all wires out of the way now push on the nut as to push into the washer and then pull on the 2 parts were the wires were it will be stiff to move. when it comes out wipe around the hole and clean it before fitting new element. fitting the element in side there is a metal plate the element has to fit into this, best way to fit it right is to make the element end at an angel when fitting. when its fitted it should be flush, tighten the nut until its a nice snug fit with no movement. then refit all wires and earth wire and nut. check everything is done and looks the same as it was when you started. you are now done. put back on and washer ready to use.

I have a Zanussi W/M ZWF1640 showing E34 fault codes in diagnostics mone. any clues?

Three things i would suggest on the zannuzi. Does water come into the drum at the beginning of the wash? Does the drum turn if asked to wash or spin? Does the drain motor disperse the water in the drum when supposed to. If motor does not turn, check the brushes. Sorry for being so vague, Zannuzi not common in S.Africa, but those are the common problems i have found while repairing the odd one.

Bosch PowerStar125 won't heat and I can't get one element to work

It sounds like you have a copper canister unit. Ohm out the elements in that one canister. the directions are on the websight for bosch, or I can walk you through it. But you will need a digital multimeter to do this. If you have a blown element in that one canister, then the tco will not reset.

Zanussi electric oven.

The problem is usually a contactor or relay. The thermostat usually doesn't directly control the elements. Follow the wiring diagram or look at the wires from the thermostat. they usually go to a small box and then to the elements The contacts may sometimes stick or always stick. This part is a lot cheaper than the thermostat. Another problem is a burned out element. (Usually the bake element) This can short to ground and not let it turn off. When the elements are on they should glow evenly all over with no hot spots. Look at the broil element also. It is usually at least part way on during baking.
