It started washing and stopped restarted paused it to take showers and it wouldnt restart after that. It will power on press start and it dings like it usually does to start but it doesnt try to lock or start up. What can be the problem? I replaced the lid lock because tech said thats what it was that didnt help...
I could not find that code applied to a Samsung washer, only different mfgs. Contact with Samsung "Chat" states A02 is a communications error.
Recommend you check cable connections at the control board
Have you tried "smart care" app with this machine? Suggest try and see what it says is wrong.
If its a comm error, likely cabling between front display board and control board. Check all connections. Comment here so I may advise further.
I have checked all the cables nothing seems lose or burned. I tried the smart care app and all I get is a smiley face looking thing.
I personally have never used the app. I believe what you see is code presentation readable by the phone camera.
Suggest following video.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kO1w50Ap...
I expect it will be a comm error, but may be not.
Only thing I seen in smart app showing is the button is found unreleased, other than that nothing. Do I need to replace the control board?
Hey Carl any other suggestions? Should I replace the power control board, or do you think it might be the interface control board? Thanks
Control boards are bit expensive to just "shotgun" replace (even used board). My preference would be to trouble shoot the latch lock and verify the control board is not properly detecting "lid lock" state. But then I'm not sure a service tech would properly test either (why I do my own repairs, but I have appropriate background disciplines).
At least verify the connections between door lock and control board are in properly in place. Then it's up to you to decide on control board. Not sure what you're paying for tech labor, but probably a wash money wise, so go ahead and replace. Just be aware without troubleshooting you are guessing.
What bothers me is Samsung said its a Comm error which doesn't directly translate into a lid lock fault. You changed lid lock so techs analysis is poor.
Comm error usually means communication between the front panel and the main control board. So you can change the control board and when that doesn't fix it, you'll need to replace front panel as well.
If you're comfortable DIY on the control board, suggest you save about half the cost and get a guaranteed used/repaired board from eBay. If it turns out you need a front panel, get that from eBay as well and likely you'll still be money ahead.
But again, without trouble shooting down to module you are guessing.
Suggest you find diagnostic instructions and run them yourself before deciding. If you cant find instructions let me know and I'll try to locate.
Sorry for reviving this old question but I was wondering if you were able to fix it and which part you replaced? I'm in the same situation, I replaced the lid lock but that was not the problem.
I have a A02 code and my top loader won't drain, removed pump all ok, has to be a circuit board problem, cant find any info on this code

SOURCE: How do you open a Kenmore Elite Oasis top-loading washer?
I just finished installing my new control unit for my Kenmore Oasis and my F1 problems are GONE! I ordered it from Sears Direct Parts. With shipping and taxes it came out to about $174 for the part, but our issues are gone and now we can wash a load of clothes without having to reset it several times.
SOURCE: Kenmore Elite Oasis HE getting F1 code. What does this indicate?
your board is confused and cannot read water level, very easy fix, pull off console(three screws on rear) and remove clear hose on right side of main control. blow into with your mouth and clear tube. reconnect hose and try, if F1 continues main control will need to be replaced, Sears is offering this for free if your unit falls within a certain serial number range, Also a biggie.....You must use he soap only with the oasis....no exceptions.....

I have the same problem with my Oko Lavamat 74639 Update. I've tried changing the vacuum sensor, but no luck.
Did you get your fixed?

SOURCE: Error Codes"5ud" and "02" and "F"
The two error codes together indicate you have something restricting the drainage system. "F02"is a Long Drain error code, "SUDS" occurs when too much air is sensed in the drainage system. In most cases, the drain pump reservoir needs to be cleaned out. The following link explains how:

If you check the drain pump reservoir and the problem still persists, you may have a pump with a damaged motor/impeller, or something lodged in one of the drain lines. In particular, the drain line that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the pump.
I recommend you remove the inlet hose, first and inspect for clogs. In is common for small garments to become lodged in this area and restrict water flow to the drain pump. Check the output drain line for obstructions as well.
It does not take much to damage this small drain pumps. The error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes. So...if the impeller or motor become damaged, and the pump does not pull water at the correct volume, you may still experience the drain error. In this case, you will have to replace the pump in order to get the error to clear. The following link explains how:

There is an access panel on the back of the unit. 6 screws and on the bottom is a rubber hose that comes from the tub. inside that rubber hose is a filter cup. i have the same unit and mine did the same thing. took it out pulled clog out put it back together. works like a charm. hard to get at but you can do it. use a drill with a Phillips head to make it quicker. Also have pliers and a pair of channel locks on hand.
Hello - This particular issue can be caused by quite a few reasons. Washer could be experiencing a communication error from the main control board, faulty door lock assembly or the timer itself is not operating correctly. Did you notice a humming noise? If so, either the drainage hose/pump is clogged and needs to be cleaned or could possibly have another issue with the door lock assembly or pressure switch. You can also press and hold the start/pause and cancel button together at the same time for approximately 30 seconds to display an error code on the LED. What error code does it display? However, I would suggest contacting a professional to accurately diagnose the washer.
