The reset for that unit is to unplug it from power for a minute and plug it back in.. Does that do anything?

This is caused by the temp sensor wires coming loose or breaking off.

SOURCE: push start button on control panel - machine does not start

only 2 things can cause this.
1 the control is set to lock out mode. just hold the lock button for 5 seconds and it should go back to normal mode.
or 2 the controls user interface has an internal failure. its the part that has the switches and tells the computer what to do. either way call whirlpool and see if its still covered by their warranty.
of yeah and the 3rd thing is you have no power to unit. make sure the outlet is good by trying something else in the same outlet, like a light or hairdryer.

SOURCE: My Whirlpool Duet Washer, model number WFW9400SW01 will not turn on. The button lock is off and does light up indicating power to the front panel/unit. Any ideas?

if you are mechanical and are not afraid of small wires you can try this. I had the exact same problem on my machine. i very slowly diasssembled the machine. not hard to do. removed the top. unscrews from the back and slides to the back to come off. remove the door. unsnap the plastic plate that goes around the door.it is held on by small snap clip that pop off if you use a small flat screw driver to pry it out. remove detergent tray. and screws that attach it to the inner box. now the hard part. remove the face plate. it unsnaps similar to large door plate.very carefully unclip the circuit boards. they are held in by plastic clips around the outside and white plastic clips in the middle. you must gently pry up and release these clips one at a time. a second person is helpful, so are small needle nose pliers. clean both circuit boards very gently with isopropyl alcohol and qtips. mositen the qtips and clean every inch of the boards. be very careful not to bend or crack anything. you must get all the yellowish flux and any other corrosion growing on the board off. there is one more board that must be cleaned. the power supply board. it is mounted on the top right side near where the face plate wire come through. this is not hard to remove it is held in by small clips. the tricky part is the wires. they are all designed so they cannot be plugged in incorrectly but i have seen what people are capable of. make a map. number them with a sharpie so you know where they go. remove this board and clean it the same way. this on will probably be the worst offender. i cleaned all the boards reassembled and it works like new. below the door is a panel that should also be removed. there is a removable drain filter that should be cleaned out. i found pens and toys in mine. the machine could not pump out the water fast enough and would shut down and trigger f70 and f 20 codes.

F 01 fault code on front load washer

ERROR CODE F01
The pump driver fails to activate/One of the main relays is not working properly/
A communication error between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the EEPROM
onboard the CCU occurred.

Check for loose power outlet. A loose power plug in the wall can create
line noise and issues.
- Check if washer is on a dedicated circuit. Other devices on same circuit
can create line noise and cause this issue.
- Unplug washer or disconnect power.
- Make sure that wire harness connections from the CCU are not broken or with wires
detached, and that connector internal pins are visible.
- Make sure all green wires (ground harness system) are not broken or detached.
- Make sure the two ground switches are pressed correctly by the toe and rear panels.
- Make sure all connectors are fully seated.
- Plug in washer or reconnect power.
- Check for power going to Central Control Unit (CCU) by listening for a click in the
CCU when unit is plugged in washer or when reconnecting power.

- Verify unit operation by performing the Diagnostic Test.
- After the diagnostic test has finished, unplug washer or disconnect power
and wait for 15 seconds.

The CCU is located under the top panel which you already removed. Here is the part to order.

Whirlpool duet sport will not work

F28 is a serial bus error from the CCU (Central Control Unit) to the MCU (Motor Control Unit).

All you need is some Electronics contact cleaner spray and a 1/4 inch socket to remove the top of the machine and the back of the machine.
The CCU is the computer looking box at the top front right hand corner.
Find connector M13, (has red marking on it and only 3 wires) disconnect it by pushing the retainer tab back and pulling gently on the connector.
Spray the contacts of the connector and computer with connector cleaner.
Then re-assemble connector.
The MCU is in the back lower left corner.
Find the connector with 3 wires and red mark, and remove this connector in the same way you did the other, spray it and re-install.
Put the back and top back on.
