When i write a message using my computer the letters are getting smaller why?
I have a window 7 desktop computer the letters are getting smaller when i type words how can i fix this problem? i havn't change anything on my computer.

Press F2 when booting and go into the setup menu. Look for Drives. Possibly the drive that is not responding properly is listed and is not checked. Usually SAT0 is the C drive, SATA1 is a DVD drive or second hard drive and so on. If your drive is not listed, it may need to be found and identified as follows
To Get a Drive Recognized:
1. Right click the computer icon on your desktop, and select "manage."
and then "Storage"

1a. Press the Windows key and the R key and type "diskmgmt.msc" and press "Enter."
This opens "Disk Management" where you can see your new hard drive
in the graphical list of drives.
2. Right-click the drive from the list and select "New Simple Volume."
3. Click "Next" on the "New Simple Volume Wizard" window to begin
partitioning the drive.
4. Click "Next" to use the entire drive volume in a single partition.
If you prefer to create a smaller sized partition, which leaves space for a second or
third partition, enter a smaller value next to "Simple Volume Size in MB."
The maximum size is displayed by default, so you cannot enter a larger value that that.
5. Click "Next" to automatically assign a drive letter to the partition.
You can also select a different letter in the drop-down menu, labeled
Assign Drive Letter or Path.
6. Click "Next" to format your partition using the NTFS system,
which is the best file system for use in Windows 7.
7. Click "Finish" to complete partitioning, formatting and assigning the drive letter.
The drive will now be recognized by Windows 7 and appear in Windows Explorer.
Its very difficult to install windows 7 if you are not having a DVD drive, Especially when you are planning to upgrade your windows xp system you would like to see how vista looks. So you need to install it and see.Requirements: USB pen drive 4GB or more Windows 7 DVD Step 1: Download HP USB storage format tool fromhere and install on your computer. Step 2: Once you finish installation, double click on HP USB storage format tool and format your pen drive in NTFS For this, select NTFS from File system option and Check quick format option and click on start.
While doing the format the data stored on your Pendrive will be lost. You keep a back if needed. Press YES on the warning message
Once the format finished you will get a message with the details and Click on OK
Now insert Windows 7 DVD in to DVD Drive and go to command prompt. For that go to start -> RUN and type CMD and press enter or OK
You will see the command prompt with black back ground Now you need to change the directory to your DVD drive where you put the windows vista DVD. For that type G: and press enter (here I am using G because in my system DVD drive letter is G. So you need to check your DVD drive letter and type accordingly) So the directory will change to G:> Now type cd boot and press enter Now the interface will be like G:boot> Then type bootsect.exe /nt60 h: (where h is the drive letter of your pen drive) Now you will get a successful message like below
Now you can close the command prompt and copy all the contents from the windows 7 DVD to the pen drive
It will start copying now
Once it’s finished, you need to restart your pc and access the bios of your system and make first boot device as USB pen drive. That’s it, now you can see installation starts from the USB pen drive.
How to change your drive letter in Windows 7 and Windows Vista.
1. Right click on your "Computer" icon and select Manage. Note you can also right click on the "Computer" icon from your Start Menu.
2. Next click on "Storage" and then "Disk Management"
3. Next right click on the drive you want to change the drive letter on and click on "Change Drive Letter and Paths".
4. Next click on the "Change" button
5. Next click on the letter drop down on the right. Note you can change the drive letter to any letter that is not already used. However in most cases you will not beable to use letters A-D but E-Z should be open for you to select.
Also note if you are needing to change a drive letter to something that a device requires you to select but it is being used by another device you will have to move the other device to another letter first.
6. After selecting the drive letter click OK.
Note the below message come up. So as long as you are on changing the drive letter of a CD-ROM or Harddrive then you can just click YES. Keep in mind that if a program was installed from this the drive that you changed the drive letter of to be able to use that program you may need to reinstall and/or redirect the program to the new drive letter.
7. At this point the drive should be changed. Close out of Computer Management and reboot your computer to make sure your change takes full effect.
Note the steps for Windows XP are pretty much the same however if you go to the below link you can see the steps along with the screen shots of the menus.

adjust and click "apply" and "OK"
Did you icons get big too? Pressing Ctrl + Mouse Wheel Scroll with make your icons bigger (also Right-Click > View > Large, Medium, Small). Did your resolution change? In Windows 7 and 8, you can check your resolution by right-clicking on the Desktop and select "Personalize". From there, select "Display" located to the lower left of the window. This should show you three options: Smaller, Medium, Larger. Choose the one you like the best. From here you can change your computers Resolution by clicking "Adjust Resolution" and select the one that shows you the most screen that you are able to still read. Most websites are designed to a minimum of 1024 by 768, so I would select at least that.
if you want to magnify the screen to see small letters, try this : hold CTRL key and press the +/= key (near the backspace key) to magnify the whole screen, and CTRL -/_ key to make it smaller again.
more permanent solution is to right click anywhere on your desktop background where there are no icons, and set your video properties to something smaller like 800x600, or 1024x768, yours is probably higher like 1680x1050 ....
or with windows 7, just right click anywhere on your desktop background where there are no icons, and click "personalize". then click on where it says "display" on the left side of the window, and change the setting from smaller to medium or larger.
you can change these settings anytime you like, so try these solutions until you find a combination that works the way you want it to look.
I do have the same problem with my tom tom920. I do have windows 7. When I plug it in message on my comp i get message USB device not recognized. Is there any solution?
Which Operating system are you currently using? By default XP/Vista/7 should have generic drivers sufficient for using the device as external storage, To Check and make sure the drive is being properly recognized simply double click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop if using windows XP. Or in Vista/Windows 7, click on the Start Button and then scroll over to Computer and Click. the hard drive should be listed in there. Take note of the drive letter . If you'd like to save items to it simply save to the new drive ( when within the program of your choice, Word, Windows Media Player etc ) by selecting the new drive in the "Save To" Window. ( Be Default most windows systems should store all information on the C:\ Drive ) your new external drive should be listed with a different letter ( F:\ G:\ etc )
This problem happens quite a bit with Windows Vista. It seems that Windows Vista puts a hidden file in the backup; which locks the device.
Open the external device (Windows 7 is fine). Click on "view hidden folders and files." Delete any hidden files you may have in the external.
Go back to "my computer" and right click on the external hard drive letter. Choose properties and security tab. Make your user-name as a main user (administrator) and disable the read only.
