SOURCE: scanner bulb doesn't turn on during a scan

You can try to get and replace the scanner light. If it was the light, the new one will work. If it was some other electonic component that shut off the light, then the light won't work. Depends on the cost of a new light compared to getting the unit serviced by a tech. Or the cost of a new Multifunction unit. Do some research before you make the decision.

The product uses various combinations of flashing lights to indicate its current status.

  1. Turn off the product.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the electrical outlet.
  5. Turn on the product
Issue

The Check cartridge light is blinking. Cause one

The cartridge door is open.

Solution one

Make sure that the cartridge door has been completely closed. Cause two

The cartridge is missing or not seated correctly.

Solution two

Insert the cartridge by sliding it forward into the slot correctly. Cause three

The tape was not removed from the cartridge.

Solution three

Make sure that the plastic tape has been removed before inserting the cartridge into its slot. Cause four

The cartridge is not intended for use in this product.

5740 hp officejet printer streaks on scan or copy

The glass is smudged or dirty or the scanner bar may have dirt on it. Cheaper to just replace the machine.

Lexmark X4550 Scanner not working

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).


If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

Scanner bulb warming up keeps cycling, seems like the scanner is not working and can not print or copy. Sounds like the movement across the scanner doesn't happen.

Optical scanner assembly faulty, its avil replace it if not open the unit gently remove the cover clean reflecting mirroes with ears buds to aviod scratches, refix and try.. best of luck

Canon mp 980 won't even copy or scan if any ink runs out. Is there any way to change that?

Sorry, but no. As far as I know that's how all of these all-in-ones work. If the printer doesn't work because the cartridges run dry, nothing else works either. They don't allow you to use the scanner as a standalone piece.

Im trying to scan a document but its saying error code 2106. i have it hooked up through wireless

Try these things:

1. place a doc to scan in the scanner. Close the lid and hit MENU, COPY document, START.

If that doesn't work you'll need to contact kodak. If it does then try this next:

2. Check for ADMINISTRATOR rights.

  1. RIGHT CLICK on the kodak icon and select Properties > Compatibility tab > Run this program as an administrator
  2. Select RUN AS ADMINISTRATOR
  3. click APPLY
  4. click OK
Then try scanning again. If it still doesn't work then-

Reload the driver:

  1. select Start > Run.
  2. Type %windir%, then click OK.
  3. Double-click twain_32.
  4. Right-click Kodak, then select Delete.
  5. Insert the KODAK All-in-One Printer Software CD into the appropriate drive, then go to (cd drive: > printer > scanner.
    Double-click aioscannr.msi, then follow the instructions to remove it
  6. Then go to cd drive: > printer > scanner, then double-click aioscannr.msi, and follow the instructions to install the file.
  7. Open Home Center Software
  8. Select Scan Documents and Pictures.
  9. Scan a document
If it still doesn't work then you'll need to take it in for service.

Scanner does not work It keeps telling me "no conncetion to computer" but the printer is conected . I can copy from the computer. Wher can I find an instruction manual for Officejet Pro L7590 My last HP...

The Driver of the scanner and driver of the printer, this two miscellaneouses of the driver, in addition is fixed. Attentively install both drivers with mounting disk. Else use the cable USB from kit of the supply, scanner can not work since long шур USB.

When printing multiple pages it prints 1 and & stops & no more

Go to Kodak's site and download and install the firmware upgrade for the printer. Follow all instructions on their site for doing this. There are some printers that have this known issue and apparently is fixed by firmware updates. Also uninstall the printer driver (after successfullly doing the firmware update) and reinstall it. Reboot the computer after reinstalling the printer driver.

Hi Jean, The issue can occure only when the HP printer is not gettting enough power supply or the scanner bulb is not getting heated up properly.. You can isolate the issue by directly connecting the printer to wall jack and powerup the printer and try to make a copy so that we can check the copy function as the copy,scannig and FAX use the same scanner bulb to performe all functions.. If the copy does'nt work try to lift the scanner lid and check if the scanner bulb is lit and the scanner machinasium is moving fine or not .. lift the lid and press scan button to check the functionality. If the printer is connected to a surge protector or power strip this will some time fail to provide the required power supply to the printer so connect it to wall outlet and check with the issue..
