My washer won’t come on and I can’t get the door open

Hello - Try resetting the unit by unplugging it or flipping the household circuit breaker off. Wait approximately ten minutes. If the door does not open, then it sounds like the washer is possibly experiencing a communication problem with the control board, wiring failure or faulty door lock. Hi - I understand that the door won't engaged, however does it show any other symptoms? Try to start a drain spin cycle and let the unit run for approximately 5-7 minutes and press cancel once. If the door opens immediately, unit made have a bad door lock. If you have to wait for the door to release to open, then possibly you have a control or wiring issue.

Gather towels, shop vac, mop....Open small door at the bottom of the washer on the outside. Remove the small door and cup that's attached to it. Be prepared for a washer full of water!!!!!! Reach in, turn the nob to the left so tht water and debris can escape. You need to do this every 5 loads to keep debris from building up and causing the door to lock.

Turn the dial slowly.

These doors are usually on a timer and so won't be released for opening until a couple of minutes have passed by after turning the machine off.

Assuming you've already allowed for this, try giving the door a good firm push (closing) on the mechanism. It may just have caught partially closed.

check the door interlock sensor. Somewhere there is a tab or button that lets the washer know when the door is closed. If this switch isn't being triggered it could be that the machine thinks the door is open and won't function.

This error code indicates that the door needs to be opened and closed.
The F26 code may appear the first time you try to use the washer. Open and close the door to clear the display.
The F26 code may also appear if the washer has run three cycles without the door being opened. Open and close the door to clear the display.
If opening and closing the door does not remove the error display, press Pause/Cancel twice.
