When I put a tape inside, instantly, appears error code C3125?

Try to clean reading head from vhs player with isopropilic alcohol, maybe is dirt and give this error.

You will not find the list of the error codes on the internet. I know that Error Code: 0x81 is a "Reel" problem as I was just told by Sony Support. You should call them, have you serial number at hand when you do so. Check http://sony.storagesupport.com/ for a Telephone contact number.

You need to try to eject the tape and put it back in the camera. That error means that something has happened with the tape transport and the camera could need a cleaning tape but not necessarily. Try re-inserting the tape. If the error appears again, try a different tape. If the error still appears, run a cleaning tape in the camera on playback for 8-14 seconds (no longer!). Then put a regular tape back in. If you still see the error, there is probably a mechanical problem in the tape transport and the camera will need to be repaired. It's possible it could just need a clean and lube on the mechanical parts, but in any case you will need to take it to a camera shop for an estimate.

I've been working for hours on this machine, cleaning and lubricating the mechanism and trying various adjustments to fix related problems. If I recall correctly the F11 error is due to tape mistracking, indicating damage to same. Someone posted a suggestion that the F08 error indicated a drum relay problem, requiring professional servicing; but it also comes up on my machine if the tape tension is too high and the mechanism cannot overcome it when loading the tape. I only realised this after finally tracking down pretty well all of the bearings needing lubrication; then adjustments to the tape tension could be detected. I've got to the stage that my AG-DV2700 will accept tapes that have been recorded on that machine; playing them instantly, after the usual auto tape tensioning where the tape is FF a few seconds and then RW a similar amount, if the safety shutter is enagaged; and merely accepting them in the normal fashion otherwise. Up until this point it would throw up the F08 error whatever tape was put in; if you switched the recorder back on instantly the tape would slow FF, ie not its usual whirlwind winding, and be available for use after auto rewind at the end. If a tape NOT recorded on it is put in it still stops with the F08 error. I would suggest that trouble with this recorder is likely due the loading mechanism becoming stiff. All you have to do is dismantle it - but there's lots of tricky bits and bobs in there to watch out for.

Press the power butten several times while holding down the eject button. It will solve your problem and clear the error. If it not then there is something wrong with your reel motor or the circuitery which deals the reel motor. You must consult your nearby sony service center.

Check to see if the gear or wheel is engaging the capstan.

This more then likely is your problem.

That is the "LOAD" error code.

However, to service the C:31 code, Sony recommends you do the following:

1. Turn off the camcorder.
   
2. Remove the battery or disconnect the AC power adapter for 60 seconds.
   
3. Insert the battery or reconnect the AC adapter.
   
4. Turn on the camcorder.
   
5. If the error message appears, service may be required.
   

If your camcorder still shows the same error code, then you'll have to send in your camcorder for service.

Does the error appear when tape is inserted? Eject the mechadeck, take out the tape, try blowing hot air using hair blower for a short while, just to dry if there is any dew inside, if still the same, have the capstan motor replaced, thanks

This is a common problem. The code indicates that the sensor for the supply reel has indicated lack of motion. If you have a cleaning tape, try it first because if the head drum hesitates, reel error codes often appear. If this doesn't help you are in for a service situation. There are other electronic failures that can cause false codes and operations in many cases. These usually involve cable connection failure. You still need a qualified servicer.
