I need to put back the mop handle where it goes into base
SOURCE: shark steam mop
I had the same prob and found this site off google looking for the solution.
I went back to my shark and took out all the screws, some don't feel like they were coming out but it came apart. Take a pair of pliers and release the spring clip holding the hose to the heat nozzle. Then pull off the hose. Then take a paper clip, unkink it so it's sort of straight with a curve to go into the hole . Shove it in and out to clean out the hole. I got my fingers blasted with residual steam so you should let it cool first. But I think the steam bursting out helped clean out the hole. Don't throw it away till after you try that..It worked great after that. All the best, Satch
SOURCE: Need replacement thermal fuse for Shark steam
SE Fuse is a one time link. If it pops it must be replaced. Found them at Goodman thermal fuses for $1.25 ea. Not sure why it failed, unit is 6 yrs old, always used distilled water, never had a problem, it just quit. Circuit seems to be fine, will find out when part arrives.

I have had my steam mop for about 2 yrs and absolutely love it. I have not experienced any difficulty with it until I recently noticed it would heat up but not steam.
I contacted Shark's Consumer Products services at 1-800-798-7398 and the person on the other end was very helpful. After giving me a few pointers, we discovered that my mop needs repairs.
They have a one year warranty, which my mop is past, so I will need to mail it in to them with a check for $9.95 for return shipping and a check for $17.95 for repairs. They will replace it if they are not able to repair it for no further costs.
I highly recommend giving them a call. There is also a live chat available on their website that can point you to the service or person you need to speak with.
