If water is soft in your area you can ignore the salt indicator light and operate the dishwasher without adding regenerating salt. However, you need to ensure the salt reservoir is filled with water to the brim. So add water into the reservoir and then put the cap back on.

Do you need to put salt in the dishwasher. If using tablets detergent ...where to put it ?

A lot of dishwashers do not have salt dispensers. If it does, the salt is added to a container which has a lid on the base (floor) on the inside under the bottom basket. Unscrew the lid and add the salt. Use normal pool salt. It is the same as "special dishwasher salt" that you pay a lot for. When full, the salt will last for 12 to 18 months. Most machines that have a salt container, also have a warning light on the panel to let you know it needs refilling. Dishwasher tablets do not add salt to the machine. Make sure you wipe up any salt that you may have spilt on the base of the machine, it will stain or rust the cabinet.

Dishwasher salt beko

Rinse aid and salt are not necessary if you use powder that is similar to the tablets. The lights are warning you that you havent added them, you know that so ignore the lights. If you live in a hard-water (limescale) area salt can be used as well as tablets or powder to make the water kinder to the machine, but most people just use tablets without rinse-aid or salt.

Dishes not coming clean

Five common causes:-

1. The dishwasher hasn't got any salt in, or the salt dispenser control is set too low. Even if your tablets/powder have a salt function, it's often not enough in hard water areas and supplementary salt must be added to the salt dispenser.

2. There is no rinse aid in the machine or the dispenser control is set too low. Supplementary rinse aid may be needed even with tablets/powder which claim to include it.

3. The dishwasher is not reaching the correct operating temperature. This can be due to a faulty machine, or by using low temperature washes inappropriately. Low temperature washes are only suited to very lightly soiled loads which have not baked/dried on. There ARE special low temperature tablets/powders, but they're designed only for specialised domestic machines with low temperature overnight wash cycles or for commercial dishwashers.

4. The filters/debris traps at the bottom of the machine are not clean.

5. You're using the "wrong" brand tablets/powder. In this instance "wrong" simply means that your machine just doesn't get on with the brand you're currently using. price has little to do with it; I find with my current machine that the market leading expensive brand works poorly but the ultra-cheap supermarket basic value brand works perfectly. Also it can be down to using a genuinely wrong tablet/powder choice as per suggestion #3.

Glass and cups coming out with a milky stain on them, no shine at all.

Rub a little vinegar on the surface of an affected item. Does the stain vanish? If so then you have limescale deposits caused by no salt in the machine.

No salt can be an empty dispenser, a faulty dispenser, or using dishwasher tablets/powder without additional supplementary salt in a hard water area. it can also be caused by having the salt dispensing control set too low (on many models it's a lever located adjacent to the dispenser lid).

Miele dishwasher film and crust on the inside-

Hard water has this "crust" which are minerals floating around that ionically attach to everything. Some machines from Miele have a water softener inside the machine. Special dishwasher softener Salt is added that cleans minerals off Xeolite beads. When cleaned they attract mineral ions. If you don't use the salt then the beads fill up on minerals until they can't hold any more minerals. The salt is used in the regeneration cycle. It washes the mineral ions off the xeloite replacing them with salt ions. As new water enters the machine mineral ions slowly knock off the salt ions and attach themselves to the beads again. This whole process keeps the crust off the dishes and the walls of the machine.
Use a dishwasher cleaner that removes scale. And if you don't have a salt light on your Miele you can instead purchase soap tablets that contain water softener built in. Miele dishwasher tablets have it. You can order them online or call Miele.
