The play head did not retack fully to the off position. Drop the player an inch from the floor to jar it into place. Or or open the back side to reach in to move parts or open stuck latch.

SOURCE: software for panasonic digital camera nv-ds65

I have uploaded the camera driver here.
http://rapidshare.com/files/151262301/Driver.rar.html
Un rar the file and press the setup icon in the file.
After this the computer will recognize the camera and you will be able to use for example the moviemaker program to capture (transfer) the movies from your camera.
You can contact me if you need a more detailed instruction

SOURCE: vcr will not play tapes,it ejects the tape after a few seconds

This may be caused by the mode switch.
By the way it uses a K-Deck Mechanism.

SOURCE: Panasonic NV-DS65 500x it gives power red flicker

This is not the problem with that battery. That battery is using for the clock & date memmory. From your question not clear the problem. First you check the flickering condinously or after two or three or some another numbers flickering then giving some intervel then it doing again.
Any way I can give u a solution. Open the black cover remove the flex cable which is connected in between mechanisum and main P.C.B. & remove another flex cable which is connected capston motor & main P.C.B (which is big flex cable just closed to tripod fixing hole. Then clean with sprit & cotton bud. After five minute refixed it again. Mostely it should work. Try this if the problem is not solved tell the details of the flikering of the red light

Can I use a 8gig SDHC card in my panasonic nv-ds65 ?

The NV-DS65 uses SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in this camcorder. You need to use SD cards 2GB and smaller.

Panasonic NV-DS65 won't eject a tape

It sounds that what's happened is your idler wheel is slipping or even your main drive belt.
When you loaded the tape it was taken by tape guides around the video drum. When you pressed eject the tape guides returned to their proper places but the tape stayedin a loop around the mechanism because the take up spool had no drive to pull the tape back into the cassette. When you've tried to pull the cassette out of the camera that loop of tape has snagged on part of the mechanism and that's what is stopping the cassette from being removed. I'm afraid the tape would be damaged at that spot so you may as well simply snip it with a pair of long bladed scissors and the cassette will pull straight out.
What is then required is either the drive belt changed or the idler wheel assembly changed. Either way a service center will be required unless yourself or a friend is able to buy the parts (not expensive) and do the work required.

Good luck

Tape cover/container will not stay in closed position

Hi Eagle, Just faced the same problem with our school Panasonic NV-DS65. Had a serach on th3e net and found some info at http://www.pechorin.com/m/2006/02/10/Panasonic_NV_DS65_not_functioning-255044.html I wasn't exactly sure what the 'mech connector jock' was but opened up the bottom of the camera anyway. There are seven screws and nothing falls out when you remove the cover! Now I didn't remove or clean any 'jocks' - but with the bottom off you can see the inside a lot better. At this point I just tried to see what held the cassette in place and pushed on the black platye at the bottom of the cassette bay (and probably a couple of other capstans too). Then I inserted the cassette and much to my amazement it clicked back into place. So, not sure if you'll have the same luck, but it really does just appaer to be a mechanical (and fixable) problem.
