It should work. All the optical connections are the same.

if you are wanting the original remote you can visit:

if you are wanting to control more than just the tv such as an entertainment center i would go to a technology store such as circuit city and purchase a harmony remote

SOURCE: optical engine

The best thing to do is to call Hitachi and see if they would be able to help with the cost of the repairs because it will be expensive.
Hope this helps,

Connected jbl bar 5.1 to hisense 65 p7 tv using hdmi arc outlet on tv and sound bar unfortunately no sound

  1. When you connect an external device to TV (without ARC) and Sound Bar, connect the HDMI cable (sold separately) from the external device to the TV. Then, connect the external device to the Sound bar using an optical cord (sold separately).
  2. If you want to connect to just the TV, then the HDMI connection is unnecessary.
  3. I myself find it just as good in not using the HDMI and just using the optical cord.

I want to extend length of cord so sound bar is next to my husbands chair. Not sure what cords(s) needs to go into tv and what connection on the bar. this is to amplify the sound for him.

First check to see if the tv and sound bar have a optical connection. If so one optical cable the correct length will connect the sound bar. Otherwise you may nee the red and white RCA connector cable to extend from the tv to the sound bar.
Cannot be more specific without knowing type and model of sound bar and TV or AV system you are using.

Have a 19 inch tv visually good sound is so bad I almost use the CC all the time so I can understand the words what sound bar would make it better cause this is awful

Firstly you need to check the outputs on the tv.....are they rca (red/white for audio) or does it have optical...then chose accordingly...all sound bars generally have all connection inputs but the cheaper Ines only have rca or small audio jacks.

Can i connect an rca sound bar to insinia tv?

If the TV has an optical out and the sound bar has an optical in, then all you need to do is get an optical cable and take the rubber safety plugs out of the TV and sound bar and connect the cable. Then go into the audio setup of the TV and select optical so the TV will direct the audio from the speakers to the optical out of the TV.

I have a slightly older samsung surround sound that was working fine till I bought a new tv and the red and white audio cords would not output sound with the new tv. So I bought an optical audio cord which...

* A word on coaxial vs spdif (optical) audio cabling - I always use coaxial if I have the choice because it is A) cheap RCA cable available anywhere in any reasonable length you want to run; B) can be extended and SHARED with other components if you have limited jacks available. You just have to be careful to make sure only one digital source at a time is turned on while using the other; C) RCA cable is impervious to problems arising from tight bends; optical is too delicate and won't work well when bent. <<<<

Make sure your optical cable has no small-radious bends in its routing.

I am attempting to attach a Samsung Sound Bar to my 42 inch LCD 1080P Polaroid Television. I can not seem to get sound from the Television connected to the Sound Bar. Thoughts?

Connect the audio out RCA jacks (white and red) on the TV to the white and red RCA input jacks on the sound bar for analog stereo sound or connect the black digital audio output jack (typically optical) on the TV rear panel to the sound bar's optical digital audio input jack for surround sound. Use an optical cable. There may be some user settings on the TV for audio.

Brookstone wireless headphones have static along w/ tv sound

Well I just plugged into the cable box and that worked. On my old tv as well as my newer one the only audio out was an optical I had bought an optical splitter (one input for my sound bar and the other one to the optical to Rca) and an optical to rca for the headphones. This allowed me to use the headphones on all things going through the tv. For some strange reason it no longer works that way (just got my new tv this week). I bought all pieces on Amazon for a nominal cost. I'm going to doublecheck all connections again tomorrow.
