Hello, Grace -

There has been more than one Simplicity sewing pattern with the number 8024. I don't know which one you are sewing with.

The current Simplicity sewing pattern I have found is:

- Babie's Christening Sets with Bonnets (I think this is the current pattern for sale.)
https://www.simplicity.com/simplicity-storefront-catalog/patterns/brands/simplicity/simplicity-pattern-8024-babies-christening-sets-with-bonnets/

The other patterns I have found are vintage patterns:-

- Misses dresses with princess seaming; 1 sleeveless style; 1 short sleeve style
https://www.etsy.com/listing/545593172/simplicity-8024-uncut-size-6-16-womans

- Sundress or culotte jumper

- Girls' A-line dresses with 3 sleeve styles
(TinyURL link) https://tinyurl.com/y98sqq6q

- Misses's tops; 3 styles
http://www.yourpatternshop.com/item_3775/Simplicity-8024-Knit-Tops-Size-6--10--Bust-30-12--32-12.htm

Whatever pattern you are sewing, I suggest you take the printed cutting and sewing instructions to a nearby sewing supplies store and ask one of the sales associates for help in figuring out what to do.

Or, you can contact Simplicity and ask for an explanation:

Best wishes.

SOURCE: legthen sleeves on pattern simplicity 1945

usually the pattern is altered below the armpit area. Lengthening requires either tracing the piece and adding additional length by sliding the pattern piece the required amount. OR but cutting and adding in a piece of paper and retracing the cut lines.

This question doesn't really belong here... you need to go to a tailoring site. ;) I can suggest http://www.patternreview.com join and you will get lots of help from the forum pay a member fee and get online classes.

Need help with the inner leg construction for simplicity pattern 8318 please.

Hello, Shaffer0106 -

You may be hoping that a volunteer answerer for Fixya will see your question and will also have a pattern and instructions for Simplicity 8318, Misses', Men's, and Teen's Kimono Costume.

I doubt that will happen.

Therefore, I suggest you contact Simplicity directly. The company has a toll free phone number (US and Canada) for asking sewing and pattern questions:
888-588-2700
Monday - Friday
8:45 AM - 4:45 pm (Eastern Time)

Or, you can take the pattern instructions and the relevant cut out pattern pieces to a nearby sewing supplies store and ask one of the sales people to help explain the construction directions to you.

Best wishes.

I bought a simplicity pattern 1108 and have a problem fitting the band of the kimono A. Please help.

Take your pattern instructions and your fabric pieces to the local fabric store and ask some of the nice people there to help.

Simplicity pattern 1291 view F. Instructions vague, ready to start sewing it together. Several pieces were cut on fold no indication if I keep them whole, my fleece does not march up with the size.

If the pattern instructs you to place the pattern on the fold, the folded fabric should be kept whole (do NOT cut the fold!).

You can probably contact Simplicity with your questions.

How to cut and sew simplicity pattern 1021 A for mens night shirt

The pattern and instructions should designate (ie A, B, C...) for the robe or nightshirt. Be sure to use the pattern pieces that signify the nightshirt and ignore the pieces for the robe (be careful though, some parts of the pattern may be used for both). Then be sure to follow the instructions that apply specifically to the nightshirt. Somewhere in the pattern paperwork, perhaps the back of the envelope, there is a breakdown of what pieces you need for which pattern. Also, make sure to lay the pattern pieces out on the fabric as shown, otherwise you will get fabric cut on a crossgrain which will make your garment hang funny.

You may want to check out some books from the library for beginning sewing projects or look for sewing tutorials on the internet.

How to cut fabric with paper pattern

According to this, the knee-length nightshirt is labeled as "A." The very beginning of the pattern instructions should show pictures of how to lay out the pattern pieces on the fabric.

I have simplicity pattern 8937 for child's dress and top. Cannot find piece number 8 and 9 for yoke. Can you please help?

Usually, there are more than one or two pieces printed on a pattern sheet. Look around some more. Also, check that the same pattern piece isn't used for more than one fabric piece.
