Hello, Grace -
There has been more than one Simplicity sewing pattern with the number 8024. I don't know which one you are sewing with.
The current Simplicity sewing pattern I have found is:
- Babie's Christening Sets with Bonnets (I think this is the current pattern for sale.)

The other patterns I have found are vintage patterns:-
- Misses dresses with princess seaming; 1 sleeveless style; 1 short sleeve style

- Misses's tops; 3 styles

Whatever pattern you are sewing, I suggest you take the printed cutting and sewing instructions to a nearby sewing supplies store and ask one of the sales associates for help in figuring out what to do.
Or, you can contact Simplicity and ask for an explanation:

Best wishes.

I found it on Ebay and also at http://www.ioffer.com/i/Simplicity-Pattern-9000-Bag-Tote-Sling-Messenger-Cell-148239733.
Good luck!

usually the pattern is altered below the armpit area. Lengthening requires either tracing the piece and adding additional length by sliding the pattern piece the required amount. OR but cutting and adding in a piece of paper and retracing the cut lines.
This question doesn't really belong here... you need to go to a tailoring site. ;) I can suggest http://www.patternreview.com join and you will get lots of help from the forum pay a member fee and get online classes.
Usually, there are no tutorials, although you can probably contact Simplicity for help.
