SOURCE: My garage door won't close unless I hold the main button down

your garage door has saftey sensors at the door
these are photo eyes
in the owners manuel that came with the opener
that has pictures in it which would help
the photo eyes need to be clear of debri and aimed at each other with no obstruction
there are leds on each sensor and when aimes properly they should be light if i remember correctly
if you can not get them to light then you may have to replace the sensors

SOURCE: My grage door opener Sears Craftsman K1026

Check your door sensors. Make sure they are pointed at one another and the small light on each one is lit and not flickering. Tweak them a little. If you cannot get both lights to come on you have a bad sensor.

I have a 3/4 horsepower liftmaster garage door opener, both the remote and the wall button won't close the garage door but both will open the garage door. however, the garage door will close if I hold...

If when closing the door it reverses to the open position and the main light flashes 10 times it is a door sensor problem. Make sure the small light on each sensor is on and not flickering ever so slightly. (check closely) Tweak them a little even though they may seem to be okay. Check for 5vdc between terminals 2 and 3 on the rear of the motor unit. If there is no voltage or if it is greater than 6vdc the logic board is bad.

Mine does the same thing...

If the main light is flashing 10 times you have a door sensor problem. Might be the wiring to the sensors. Nothing else will cause this flashing of the main light.

Keyless pad and remotes not working but pad inside garage does

Be sure the remotes you have work with the operator you have. Check to be sure your batteries are good. Press and release (do not hold) the "Smart button). Press and hold the button on your remote about 2 seconds. If that does not work your remotes are bad or the reciever could be bad.
