Digital signals do not have the robust characteristics of the older, analog signals; analogous to the sheet metal of older cars versus the paper thin junk on new cars. The slightest obstruction can be responsible for signal wavering, even a tree leaf or rain in signal path. That is why it is good to get as strong a signal as possible into your set and a good sensitive tuner. Try adding a drop amp into the line but be careful not to provide too much amplification lest you overload the tuner input circuits. Need to experiment. Might also consider moving your antenna to different location and carefully aiming it for strongest signal from your most important stations.
