I have a 2007 Toyota Prado Grandy. Only at 170,000 km. The paint has been pealing off all the way from the Primer.

The roof is almost all down to the Primer. It obviously is a factory fault as mentioned by all panel beaters. I can't have it painted as no panel beater guarantees it will not peel of again. Can anyone please help.

SOURCE: Sunbeam Stand Mixer

For whatever reason, Sunbeam must have decided to cut on costs and used a plastic gear to transfer power to the beater. I had my Sunbeam for two years and the plastic gear decided to break. End of mixer. You cannot find a replacement part anywhere. It is the last sunbeam I will buy.

SOURCE: Beaters Misaligned

If this is one of the later-model Sunbeams, the housing has an upper half and a lower half. By removing the upper half, you can see the motor and the gear train. You will have to take out one of the beater gear posts and reinsert it to align properly. I suggest you look at both gear posts and check for worn or broken teeth. In which case, you will need to replace the bad part[s].

Older model Sunbeams have a gearbox housing that mounts onto the front of the motor housing. When you remove the gearbox housing, you will see the gear posts inside. Check for worn or broken teeth and replace as necessary. To insure proper alignment when reattaching the gearbox housing, align the two gears relative to each other then push the gearbox housing back onto the motor housing. The motor spindle will slightly turn both gearposts simutaneously during this process but will keep the proper alignment. You may have to repeat this process a number of times until you get it right.

SOURCE: paint peeling on my ford f-150

I have actually fixed these trucks under warranty. The EPA is the root cause of this, and lack of testing the newer system, this problem is pretty much of the past as the newer vehicle have a better system on them to complie with EPA regs.

I have a 1993 buick lesabre custom that has flaking paint on the roof and trunk lid. Im not a body or paint man but I have started to sand down the areas with 400 grit and have applied some coats of...

Initial sanding can be done with 100 or it will take you a year to sand it down. You can either use a power sprayer and have paint mixed to match, or use cans made by duplicolor ...You will never match the existing paint though because it changes with age...I use the larger cans when available (marked for "vans") You can use 400 wet paper between coats and if you want to get crazy, use 800 wet when finished. Wait a few weeks and use white compound, clean well, in another couple of weeks, use clear-coat, sand again and when fully cured (few more weeks) then wax. Never sand unless paint has dried for at least 24 hours...even when it looks and feels dry, it can roll, and damage everything you have done.

Rust on the roof

Well, I guess u want to know how to fix it? Sand down the roof, if rust is bad, use a rough sandpaper to start, work your way down to fine, or better yet , extra fine. Clean off all dust, spray w/ primer, let dry (time needed , check can), spray light coats of paint, allowing each to dry before spraying the next. Too heavy a coating will make the paint run and look like cr_ap, so be patient and do several light coats for best results. Make sure u do it in a clean area (dust, bugs, dirt, rain, dew, will mess up the quality of the job, so do it when it's dry, not dusty, and make sure conditions remain that way til it dries. Good luck!

1997 Toyota land cruiser prado Rz compass bearing, temperature setting, etc.

I've been resetting pajero's compasses but try to get to an area where you can do 360 degrees turns (empty car parks, ) press the reset button and make 2 complete 360 turns slowly and normally this should set the compass bearing.
Let us know how you get on. Cheers.
