Each time you enter a new code it deletes the old ones. Just went through a similar problem.
Possible causes -
1. keypad is toast and you can get a new one from Amazon. A last resort.
2. You need to reset the upper lift memory by hitting the memory key and you have 30 seconds to re-enter your new code into the keypad.
If that doesn't work then back to #1 ( -:

If you reset your code by pressing the smart/learn button and then keying in your code and pressing enter and it still doesn't work it has just quit on you. Make sure if you replace it you get the same model number.

is it little buttons on the remote change the buttons on the back of your operator to the same has the ones inside your remote. or if it's a newer one you can hold the square button of the back of the operator in for 8 secs. then after that you push the button and let go and then push the button on your remote. done

push he little red or green button on the back of the operner and then within 30 sec. press the four numbers and enter on your keyless entry. the light on the opener should blink twice. Have a nice day once you hit this new 4 number code your old one is gone.

If that is the only remote unit you are having a problem with I agree with replacing it.
