Ativa shredder

Most likely it will be a broken gear, you will need to disassemble the unit to replace the gear if you have the replacement ready. Try searching web for ativa spares and order gear for you model, otherwise you might need to disassemble the unit to remove old/broken gear and use it as sample when purchasing the replacement. If you know what you are doing the replacing gear task start to finish should not take more than 20minutes however it might take considerably longer depending on your technical knowledge and skills. Good luck

Have broken the drive gear twice Chamberlain garage door opener

There are two main reasons for the drive gear to strip the teeth. The first and most often cause is a heavy door. With a door opener we never lift the door manually so we don't know how heavy it is getting when it needs maintenance. The second cause is what may be your problem and that is lack of lubricant. In the gear kit there is a tube of grease that should be used on the gear. You just can't use too much. You may need new door springs.
