If the washing machine stops in the middle of the cycle then it is very unlikely the lid switch is involved. It could be a number of reasons.
Best to drain the washing machine and repeat the cycle a few times to check if it happens at the same point. Could be a problem with the timer or pressure switch.

the lid lock system was designed to really lock the lid during a 'spin mode operation to avoid accidents..pushing the on/off power botton usually releases the lock I can imagine that the lock/release solenoidis now 'jammed and it is best to replace it..you will have to open the top part of your washing machine to do that..2 visible screws on the sides and 2 hidden screws behind the rear portion of the top cover..be careful with this repair job electricity can kill people..good luck

Common problem, Change the switch, and make sure if it is the model with a plunger for the switch mounted on the lid, that that be replaced as well.
