On, flue is soot free...... have not yet dismantled to check the burner orifices of the gas supply inlets. Seems to be lack of gas. How can I check this without a manomometer or dismantling ? open front door check for 24 volts ac to gas valve when cycling if no bad control board if ok bad gas valve
After you check the orifices on the heater for spiders check the vent on you supply reg. If you can smell the gas when the heater tries to fire and you have not made any adjustments, your tank is full, then you are probably OK on the gas pressure. If you pressure was good before then I would be looking at some type of issue with respect to supply. Spiders are very common and so is a blocked vent relief on the supply reg.

well its my experience that ranges don't come lpg they are all made natural gas but you convert them to lpg after purchase now if the lpg conversion isn't done properly then they soot like crazy proper lpg converson is to change the spuds on the burners and to turn the orifice over in the pressure regulator do you still have your owners manuel if so consult it on converting gas range to lp then check to see if every thing was done right on the pressure regulater there is a square cap you take it off and there is a round part that on one side says lp on the other says ng this changes the pressure that the regulator as ng and lp operates at different pressures and the regulator has to be set for what you using like i said im not familiar with your brand or model but i do know the problem if the range did come ng then you need to make sure the conversion most ranges aren't lp because there is not that big a market for it read the plate on the back will tell you if it was made ng or lp serial plate on front may say also most of the time it is beside the bottom drawer on the range

Remove the two screws on the side trim. Remove the two top screws from the filter panel. Reach behind the heater and pull the sock down on the vent pipe. unclip the two clamps holding the vent pipe together. Remove the plastic elbow off of the vent termination. Slide the heater to the left to slide the vent pipe off of the vent termination. Remove the gas line after shutting the gas off.

Go to Dome Depot. Lowes or whomever your large hardware store is and get and new regulator and connecting kit (it is probably the regulator), they are not expensive. If this does not do it, it may be the valve on the broiler, but not likely.

Sounds like it is cycling on high limit; causes are related to water flow through the heat exchanger or a faulty high limit(doubtful given the heater cycles back on). Check the internal bypass for obstructions; has anyone worked on it recently? There are usually two high limit switches with different trip temperatures; installing the wrong one could also be the culprit. Does the heater "bang" before it goes off (a sign that the water is boiling inside the tube bundle)?

A pressure regulator and pipe or hose. Whoever is selling you the tank/propane should be able to help you size everything based on the tank hook-up and tank pressure. The heater nameplate will tell you the proper inlet gas pressure that the regulator will need to reduce the tank pressure to.
