My motor spins to the right and wont stop spinning till I hold down the left turn button the only way to make it go straight is for me to tap the left turn button continusly just as the motor starts...

Stop putting cords around your shaft... terrible tragedy can result from such tomfoolery!

Have a minn kota riptide sf 101 thrust 62" shaft.

There is more than the shaft, there is the housing and then everything needs to fit and have correct clearances.....I suggest sell the old one and get a 52 inch new one...
