I have a LG front loader washer it smells and smokes when on spin cycle the model is WM2077Cw

This is more of a suggestion that a known solution. We have not had this problem, but in the process of trying to get our washer to drain today (we have an LG WM 2016CW) we blew into the drain hose and a horrendous smell came out. We had the filter out to clean it and a gush of water came out so be prepared. If the smell we got from the drain hose got into the machine our close would be pretty nasty. I can't promise this will fix your problem but your filter may need cleaning anyway.

you would need to remove bottom exit rubber pipe from drum and use a flash light to free coin or screw,hope this helps

I had the same error code along with the drum "freezing" up. The first unit that was delivered 2 years ago leaked water from the detergent compartment and they sent a second unit. I have only had this unit for 2 years and I am very disappointed in the LG product. LG was no help on the phone and I the only people that could service it were 45min away from were I live. I took the advice of a posting on this website that it could be a part called the sensor assembly and ordered it from an online electronics store (www.mcminone.com). To get to the sensor assembly, you first unplug and take off the back plate that has 4 small screws. Next, unscrew the big bolt in the middle and take off the hubcap looking part the bolt was securing. Next unclip the two sets of wires on the bottom of the circle you are looking at (the set of wires to the right are connected to the sensor assembly you want to replace). Next you will unscrew the 6 or so smaller bolts to take off the circular piece that the sensor assembly is snapped to. Take it off, unclip the old sensor assembly and clip on the new one – and reassemble. This worked perfectly for me and the part only cost $18 bucks plus shipping. When working, this product works well but I will not be purchasing any LG products in the future.

I have thata probelm a lot too. I have read that the controls don't sense that the door fully shut. You might try slamming it shut, jiggling the door, poking in the hole where the latch goes. When mine won;t spin, slamming and jiggling works.
