SOURCE: HAVE A PRONGHORN TASCO MOUNTED

No, this is not a scope issue. The scope is raised above the centerline of the barrel, thus at 10 yards, the barrell is actually slightly raised in relation to the centerline of the scope in order to hit your point of aim. Since the front of the barrel is slightly inclined, at 25 yards the bullet is still rising in relation to the scope alignment. Backing up to 50 yards you will begin to see the bullet start to drop back down, at 100 yards it may drop as much as 8-10 inches, and at 200 yards, it may drop as much as 52 inches. This is assuming that you are shooting a standard velocity .22 long rifle cartridge (1050 feet per second or so).

Will this scope work with a savage 220 shotgun?

Look at red-dot optics. You don't really need magnification with a shotgun and you will want something you can get on target quickly.

I purchased a 5 shot stainless stel clip for my 17 savage and the ammo keeps popping out of the clip

Return it and buy another one from Savage. What happened to the original one that came with the rifle? What you bought and what they sent you or were sold may be two different things. For instance a .22 magnum magazine might fit your rifle, but the feed lip opening could be substantially larger than the 17 case dimensions. In that situation the 17 caliber rounds would not stay in the magazine.

I am trying to find out year of manf. and value of my savage mod. 29a 22 pump serial num 52*** any ideas

Hello, Dennis -

Some firearm manufacturers have information available on their websites so that firearms owners can determine the age of their gun. Winchester is one such manufacturer.

I do not find that information on the website for Savage. This is the link to the home page:
http://www.savagearms.com/

However, Savage Arms company does have a web page where one can fill out a form to send a request for information via email:
https://savagearms.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

On that form, I suggest you choose the Support Category of "Historical Request."

As for a valuation of your firearm, I do not know if you reside in the USA, where I am most familiar with reputable appraisal sources. If you do not reside in the USA, then, I suggest you visit your local public library and ask a reference / information librarian to help you find a list of reputable firearms appraisers. I am a librarian by profession.

To find a firearms appraiser, I suggest you use your favorite search engine (I use Google) and enter the following search phrase:
firearms appraiser

Plus, use the International Society of Appraisers (ISA) web site to find a member who appraises firearms:
http://www.isa-appraisers.org/
Choose the Find An ISA Member link near the top of the page. Then, on the Find An ISA Member page, enter the word firearms in the Find box. Leave the location box blank for the widest possible search.

Compare the lists of firearms appraisers - the list you compiled with your search engine search and the results of the ISA search.

In the USA, several things to consider about a firearms appraiser:
* Is the person accredited by either the American Society of Appraisers, the Appraisers Association of America, the International Society of Appraisers, or the American Gunsmithing Institute?
* Is the appraisal business a member of the Better Business Bureau?

I am the daughter of an NRA approved marksmanship coach who also was licensed to sell firearms.

Best wishes.
