Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome. If your washer doesn't drain or spin, you may read and learn what parts may cause this. First, you will want to check your water pump. You need to make sure it is working. Make sure you check the belt on the pump. Make sure it is not broken or loose. Also, make sure your pulley is not stuck in place. Sometimes, they will stick or barely turn at all. If this is the case, you will need to replace it. If the pump, pulley, and belt are working, make sure your motor is working. You should be able to hear it if it is. If it isn't, check your lid switch. The lid switch can cause the motor to not work. It may need adjusted. If not, go ahead and change it. A bad lid switch may cause the washer to not work at all. Now, if your pump is pumping and the washer still won't spin, you will want to check your belt and clutch. Once again, the belt may be broke or loose. Check to make sure your clutch is not worn also. This may be a case of a bad lid switch again as well. You could have a bad drive motor. This is what controls spinning, draining, and agitation. You could have a broken motor coupler. Over time, they will go bad and need replaced. It is possible that your transmission is slipping or damaged. And lastly, you could have a bad basket drive ir spin bearing. This is what allows the inner tub to move. If this is the case, you will probably hear loud sounds or loud banging.

Hi i have a 9.5kg simpson washing machine error code PU31 what does that mean as my machine is not spinning out washing

Pump error. It means drain pump is either blocked or faulty. Water is not draining out or very slowly. Water has to all drain away before the machine will spin. Get the water out by lowering the drain hose down into a bucket. When machine is empty then remove and check the drain pump.

Simpson ezi 950 9.5 will not empty, rinse, spin dry.

That sounds like the pump is jammed. Have you checked for hair slides or similar? Once the pump is free to operate, your Simpson should resume normal service.

Water won't go down drain.

It appears that you have a drain pipe problem. Check that the hose is not restricted ( kinks etc) Get a good drain cleaner that you can use in you machine and clear the gunk out of the hose. Contact simpson dealer for a compatible product to do the job as some drain cleaners react with the steel and hoses.

WASHER DOES NOT DO FINAL DRAIN AND SPIN. USUALLY GIVES YOU THE F2 WARNING. WAS TOLD TO CHECK OHMS. HAD 17.2 OHMS WITH METER SET ON 200. TODAY IT SAID SUD ON LED PANEL. COULD PUMP MOTOR SOMETIMES WORK AND...

Hello.

There are several reasons that a washing machine won't drain or spin. The cause could be something as easy as a clog or something difficult that will need a licensed repairman. Start with the simplest possible cause and work
down to the more difficult causes.

BELOW ARE TOOLS AND INSTRUCTION THAT WILL HELP IN SOLVING THE PROBLEM.

1 A washing machine won't spin if the water can't drain. Check hoses for any kinks or clogs that may prevent the water from draining. If a hose has kinks, try to straighten out the kinked hose. If it can't be straighten sufficiently, replace the hose. If hoses are not kinked, check for clogged hoses. This can be done by using the screwdrivers to remove the hoses and looking for clogs or running a water hose through the clogged hose to remove the clog. Use the rags and bucket to clean up the water that comes out of the hoses when they are disconnected. Once the clog is cleared, put the drain hose back into place. The washer should drain and spin now if a clogged or kinked hose was the problem.

2 If the washer still won't drain or spin, check to see if the lid is not closing all the way or if the lid switch is not clicking into place. Close the lid and make sure that it closes all the way down. When the lid closes, the lid switch should click. If there is no clicking sound, then the switch may need to be replaced. Follow manufacturer's directions for replacing the switch. If the lid does not close all the way, visually check for signs that the lid is bent. If bent, try to bend it back into place.

3 Loose or broken belts could also prevent a washing machine from draining or spinning. Pull the washer away from the wall and, using the screwdrivers and wrenches, remove the back panel. Using the flashlight, visually check for any broken or loose belts. Replace any broken or loose belts. Although replacing washing machine belts is difficult, anyone who has replaced belts on a car, lawn mower or even a bicycle chain should be able to accomplish the task.

4 Another possibility for a washing machine to not spin or drain is the pump. With the back panel still off the washer, check the pump with the voltmeter to ensure that the pump is getting power. If the washer is getting power, turn on the washer and listen to find out if the pump is running but the water is still not draining. It may be necessary to remove the pump and clean it or to replace the pump with a new one. Once the pump is replaced, turn on the washer to determine if it will now drain and spin.

5 If all of the above steps fail to produce a washing machine that drains or spins, then it is time to call a professional repairman. Use the screwdrivers and wrenches to replace the panel on the washer and push it back against the wall.

Thanks.

Machine stopped mid cycle, won't spin or did not drain, no error code displayed, tried unplugged and restart. no luck

next time send the model number, open the door, look around the opening where you put the clothes in and you'll see a tag with the model and serial numbers,it has to drain first before it will spin, check the pump, get a shop vac and vac out all the water, remove the bottom panel and look at the pump,if the middle of the pump can be removed turn it counter clockwise slowly until the water starts to leak out and vac it up until all the water is out, then remove the middle part of the pump and clean it out,if the middle doesn't come out remove the hoses and check the pump to see if anything is in it and check the hoses, after you remove any debries you find fill it with some water and put it into a drain to see if the water drains,if it doesn't you can check the pump again to make sure you cleaned everything out, stick your finger in and fell around the impellar to make sure it's clear,if it's clear replace the pump.usually an error code will come up but if it fills and agitiates but won't drain i would start at the pump.hope this helps.
