Already checked the filter, but that was clean. Manual says: What to do if one of the following indi- cator lights is flashing: -Main Wash - There is a fault - - Press I-ON/0-OFF button to release it. - Turn the programme selector to Finish. - Press I-ON/0-OFF button in. - Re-start the programme. - If the indicator light starts flashing again, call the Ser- vice Dept. Would love to fix this on my own.
My tip: call the service department and ask them what the problem should be. If they refuse to answer, just ask over and over and over again until somebody will finally be connected to you which has to tell you how and what. If a company can repair it, they HAVE to give at least an answer to what is broken.

Main wash light flashing is a heating fault. You either have a faulty temp sensor (NTC) or the pressure chamber has blocked and the heater element has popped.

I have had the same problem. If you switch the machine to off and then to cotton/linen 95, then press at the same time prewash, soaking, qick wash and stain buttons for 10 seconds switch it off. When I switched it on it worked.

my w830 is doing exactly the same thing.
I am usually pretty good at fixing these sort of things so if/when I solve it I will post back here.
I think it is a motor fault - most likely the motor brushes are worn out.

Hi - the problem is the selector switch mechanism behind the front panel as it has very poor clips to hold it in place on the printed circuit board behind it !!! Switch off at mains, remove front panel (3 crosshead screws behind drawer and 3 10mm bolts behind door - should have told you to open door before s/w mains off) - open the small panel at lower left and with a big screwdriver or similar press down spring clip - the door will then open - it may be a bit stiff because of the wiring loom.
Take a digital photograph of the p.c.b. behind the selector and then take all of the cable from the p.c.b. - unscrew abd remove and then you will see the round black plastic approx 50mm diameter and the 3 rather feeble clips holding it - simply press the whole firmly back in the board - and reassemble - hope this is OK for you
